Thanks a lot for that info Crazy, now I just need to find some time to check out those sites. Ans actually what I meant was the bigger VAM meter, not a Mass air meter. My screw up. But anyway thanks again.

And to Iroc57TPI, have any details on those "cheap mods" to get your merker into the 12's? Mine will (hopefully) get me back and forth from college for the next 4 years, but after that I think it will be gutted and become an all out race car. I'm definitely on a tight budget, its not easy being 18 and paying insurance on 2 cars so I was just wondering what you had done to it. Thanks.

Thanks for the stats, bill. That's city driving, right? Pretty good, but not worth giving up the V8 for...

Hey, RX7Speed, that's pretty good for a rotary. I have a buddy who has a thirdgen rex that he drives daily. It's lightly modded (intake exhaust, etc.) and he gets crappy gas mileage (sorry, I don't have numbers, he just told me crappy) on account of the frequent nine grand revs! Maybe it's his driving habits; he likes to wind it out...

Wow, Mark, my suspicions are proven true. The interior is beautiful! (Drool, full bench rear seat...) Is it roomier than a thirdgen? My dad had an 80 Capri and he always said it was easier to get into and rode a lot smoother than my car. It was also a four banger five speed. It's fuel injected right?

You pulled the air silencer yet Mark?

Brett, I'd look into a cold air intake (you may have to fabricate this yourself).

Also, you can get a manual boost controller for your car for $45 from http://www.boosvalve.com

3" downpipe to 3" piping all the way back, no muffler

Intercooler...possibly a GN intercooler

Ranger roller cam from the junk yard

Turbocoupe VAM

I have a friend that ran 13.9 with a boost controller, k&n, and 2.5" Borla exhaust...with the mods I mentioned I bet you'd be close to the 12 second range.

Air silencer? Sorry, I am completely dumb to this car. Like the Camaro, I need to start reading and posting about the Stang. Will the AS removal free up some HP, I'm not sure if this car will make it up to college in the mountains loaded down.

That big plastic tube going into the throttle body...take that off and you'll see two more pieces of plastic jammed into it nearly choking the intake tract all the way off. Pull those out and it frees up the air flow into the motor. It's worth a couple horsepower.

In the second picture...the big piece you're holding...there are plastic inserts in both sides of it that really narrow down the intake tract in there. It just takes a flat head screw driver and about 2 minutes and you're done. Also, pull the spring out the hose by the throttle body. I hardly think you're making enough power to suck that thing shut
