Tail light conversions Bird to TA.

I have a firebird, and I went to a scrap yard and bought a set of TA tail lights. I have to mod the wires to work. My question is when the brake/parking lights come on how many are there per side? Does anybody have any pics? Thanks for the help.

hmmmm

bravo... why not make you some nice crystal clears out of your firebird lights? i personally wouldn't mind having some for mine.... i made a diagram of ta light for ya...

* * * *-------------* * * *

the arrows point to which lights get brighter when the brake or signals are used.... they use 2057 or 1157 led's light bulbs... the outer ones stay on, the inner ones are the backups....

I see that there are 4 per side, center ones for the reverse. but when you hit the brakes don't one of them go out? I got the different bulb socket but not the harrness. So I was wondering where the long socket (soon to be changed to the short) go? second or third slot? I don't like the clear look. But thanks anyway.

I'm not really sure if this will help you--but I took this pic w/my tail lights off when I was doing my conversion to my 92 gfx--this is on my 86 T/A.

I see you the sockets, but it is hard to tell if you had to run multy wires to any sockets. Do all of the sockets have just two wires on them?? Could you take a pic of them with the parking lights on and take one with the brake lights on? I just want to make sure that my lights will look good so a cop doesn't feel the need to pull me over. You never know when they might feel the earge!!! Thank you for all the help.

I already put everything together.
There is more then 2 wires on each socket tho--I remember that.
I just wanted to give you a very basic idea of what it looks like.
Maybe you should try to pull your lenses off and have someone step on the brakes--might be able to put the 2 brake lights on the outer--or whatever why you want to do. I suggest going to the help section of the parts store and buying 2 T/A type soclets(like the pic) and getting yourself a tester--very basic one. That's how I figured out what to do on my 1st conversion--this is my 2nd.
Also--on the reg. bird harness you'll have some sockets that have 191's(I think)once you do your T/A conversion you won't need them--because the T/A lights don't have the provisions for them.
You can splice of them to run your driving lights too.

I have the TA sockets that have 4-5 wires coming out of them. I think those are the ones I will need to add the small bulbs to them. I was wondering if Could you take a pic of your lights now, installed and hooked up. That way I have something to go by. I am going to play around with a volt meter and do some shooting from the hip and see if I can't get this to work. I was just wanting a pic so I know what lights should be lit up when. I should have just grabbed the wiring harrness from the car!! I might still go and try that and just splice my wires back in.
