What do u think?
I know its not a thirdgen, but i did however get alot of the ideas from u thirdgenners, i love the chatter that goes on, but would like to get ur opinions on this. I have been a die hard second gen most of my life, thirdgens are nice but like most i want to pave my own way with my car. so here she is.
Thats not even my car, its my dream, I have taken ideas from thirdgenners cause most of my friends own one. The pic has actually been photo shopped, so i dont even know if the hood is out there but i will have one made if I must. I really love the hood myself and the front GFX, I would like to find someway to put some GFX along the side but not sure how it will look with the rear end of the car. By all means it will have the growl to go with it when I finally get the body to start working on. I getting a 350block to work on and build up while I save to this car. Black camaros are high on my list but Im looking to be the kid with alot of new ideas so i may find something different that grows on me but for now shinning black will be it.:lala:
oh yeah it will be TPI all the way baby:hail: :hail:
here is what the pic started out as

Wow... a car that's been customized tastefully. I don't see that too often on this site lately.
The stickers in the 2nd pic have got to go tho. I think I'd be partial to a modest cowl hood instead of the ram air style too. A nice 2 1/2" 69 camaro-type cowl. Yeah.

forget the car, you did a helluva job photoshopping.. lol. and if it comes out looking the way you've designed it, i agree with the rest, it'll be a bad b|tch. one thing though, go with Tazs critique and get rid of the cheap looking foglights.

That hood looks really cool. If you can make it that would be a
great personal touch, and no one else will have one. My brother
in law has a 1979 z28 and they are great looking cars. I don't
know if they make side ground GFX for the second gens and I don't
know if it would look right. However, I know that 80-81's had the
additional fender flares infront of the rear wheels, like the ones
infront of the fronts in your picture. They could possibly give you
the styling your looking for. Anyways, good ideas and keep us informed

. I dont know what kind of rims those are, its not even my car, its just what i want to work towards. I love the hood, i do get on a second gen forum like this but they are worse then here on keeping the car as stock as possible. I did find one guy that did put GFX on the sides of a Z28, he took the RS ones from the 3rd gen style, and cut and modded it down to size, but didnt look too good in primer. Hoping to get pics of it soon to see what it would look like painted. I wish my photoshop skills were that good. My supervisor at work photoshopped in less then 1-2hrs gave him the pic of the 86FyrBrd's car so he could get the idea of what the ram air II looked like, then he drew most of it and added the touches. Im very happy with the way it turned out but hope to keep the pic and update it with other mods. If anyone would like to try it. i wouldnt mind seeing a 2nd gen with a modified 3rd gen Z28 high rise spoiler, i not sure how it will work, but i would like to see one on there. no more then a 1-2" spoiler, anything higher would suck me into Rice City.

Now that's something that would make me change my mind about getting a '70-73 ! I like the '81 turbo yenko Z style frontg/efx spoiler it has. Also they do make g/efx like the '85-90 Camaros. They have them in the Classic Industries catalogs and I think that ASCD makes them as well.I try to see if they do.

Woah!! First impression = baddest second gen I have seen. Too bad it was photoshopped (great job by the way). So the wheels and front GFX are real? In my opinion the stickers need to go, and if you do have that hood made it will look badass.
even with it the way it is....ill put it this way...wanna trade...i was gonna sell mine a while back and get a 77 hugger orange Z28. rebuilt 350 and rebuilt tranny...b&m megashifter...redone interior...the hood insert was painted black...so nice..only $3800 for it.here is mine if u decide u wanna trade.

holy shieat, thats a photochop ? I thought it was real initially.. your skill is commendable. Thats a sweet ride as well.
What irocgirl thread? I don't see it. Thats Kelly Ripa from Regis & Kelly. The new cohost that replaced the witch, Kathy Lee.
Hook me up with a link to that thread, I want to see the ladies.

From an ol' 2nd gen'er:
The car looks great both in the "real" version and the photoshopped one. That is a real good idea for an aftermarket 2nd gen hood. I especially like the narrower (lower) ram air inlets than those on the 3rd gen aftermarket ones
Now, if I may give my personal critiques or the things I would change on that car:
First off I would skip the front spoiler. I've seen it in person and actually have some pics somewhere of one with it and to me it doesn't flow well with the car's lines. It is just a little ...uhm....too much? Those late year 2nd gens look awesome when low and with the front/rear "wheel well spoilers" or whatever you want to call them.
I would also black out the chrome rings around the lights as well as the window trim. It made a world of difference of mine when I did that. Mine was a 75 and had the big bumpers which are much less attractive than the more streamlined covers on the 78-81's. However, it did help just to paint those big bumpers body color rather than the bare aluminum that made them stand out like a sore thumb.
At the time when I had mine I couldn't afford but some cheap a$$ rims, but they were better than what was on there when I bought the thing. Some nice rims like the ones in the picture would totally set off your car!
Here are a couple of pics of the one I restored:

Be sure to keep us up to date when you get started on the project. Im still very weak for a nice 2nd gen!!
