How would you go about attaching it though? You couldnt on the sides unless u dont plan on opening the hatch.

yea...

You have to have the middle 2 posts otherwise you wouldnt be able to open the hatch, Unless you dont mind, I know that lots of times you dont need it much back there, prolly wouldnt bother me much because i dont usually ever go back there, but if you have a flat tire, you'll regret cutting out the middle posts

as a matter of fact my AFTERMARKET Z28 hi rise spoiler from www.spoiler2000.com uses 8 bolts , two in each part , so you COULD remove the two middle supports and still have it to work , it might flex a lot though...

yea I think that if you did such a thing the wing would flex alot. ANd since youd probably have the holes patched with bondo or soemthign of the sort. It would crack off and get damaged. I dont suggest such a thing. But if you wanna try I say go for it.

om revlimit i'm sorry i started this topic - it's like idiots see a thread with the word spoiler in it and go home to get their baseball bat before coming back to talk some **** and bash some cars - i don't see anything wrong with ur spoiler since it has a use...i have the factory aerowing spoiler on my 89 gta and you know what ? it doesn't do **** at 80 when you're drifting through an uphill right hand 75* turn, sliding into the opposite lane with the 350 roaring and tires squealing while your buddy's 91 v6 bird is still laboring up the straightaway ... damn i wish i had some downforce then i could put another 1/4 mile between us :sillylol:

although you have to admit the almost dying part is fun

In all seriousness the GTA wraparound aerowing probably does as much, if not more, than that aluminum spoiler. It's lighter, it does provide downforce, it doesn't raise your centre of gravity, etc... And I won't even go into the obvious cosmetic advantage of the aerowing. To each his own, but you're going to have to expect a lot of criticism if you're going to keep a picture like that in your sig around a forum like this.

Yeah really guys, leave him alone. We have all established that we don't like it in his thread... no need to comment on it in every damn thread he posts on. Is it your car? No- so don't worry about it.

I know I have seen pics of what logikal6785 is talking about....so it can be done....it wasn't my taste but if that's what you want, well that's your choice...I'm just glad that you like your car and bothering to put the effort into it....which is better than many of the people who have 3rdgens as beaters...I mean sure we don't like what Revlimit has done with his car, but at least he's put care and effort into it, I'd rather see it like it is rather than being all trashed and rusted out...

in all sense. if he were to run in a road race at high speeds, his car would look no diff. than the competitors. does he race, i dont know. but if he does, he gains the benifites of having it. if i were to race in something like the speed gt, i would run a larger spoiler. but i would not run it on the street. i would have 2 hatches, one with race spoiler, and 1 with a factory, or a good looking smaller one (not rice). but not everyone has 2 hatches, just so happens that i do. thats my thoughts on that issue.

by the way REVLIMIT, what is that front nose. i have never seen one like that before.

thanks
anthony

I have a friend who's got a camaro w/ ronal firehawk wheels, maroon, and has that type of wing. His is just like the Z wing just no middle supports. I think he just replaced his Z one w/ an aftermarket one and it looks BADA##. He's also got a Superramed 383 that would take most ppl on this board. Rice, I think not. Very Tasteful in my opinion.

see revlimit....its not in my favorite...but it would look ALOT better if u finished the front end....other than that i think its pretty sweet car and i bet you could prob take most of the people on this board. so keep doin what your doin and let them do what they do. whatever that is...you know lowering..rims..tail pipes. no engine work...to those who do do engine work...more power to ya. but you dont have to put him down for what he likes.

I've seen this topic before somewhere....

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=118096

An really people, why it is every friggin thread you see REV (or others cars... you know which ones) post in you can't shut the hell up about his car??
I don't like, I don't hate it but, I've yet to say one damm thing about it in any post I can think of because it's his car and he never asked me or probably couldn't give a s--t either.
You know what it looks like (his car), you know he likes it (for the most part), he doesn't live in your neighborhood.... just leave it be and act a little (which I know is extermely difficult to ask of some of you 'have to say something no matter what' opinionated people) mature/descent about it. So you don't like it... tell him when he asks.. not because you feel compelled to.

I'm sure most of you wouldn't like strangers stopping you on the street every time telling you you're ugly just because they thought so.. why must you with his car (or others for that matter) ?

If it weren't for this crap & '*****' comments/post, or posts turning into this sort of thing getting exteremly old, I wouldn't even have bothered with what I just typed above (even if I probably misspelled alot of it).

Even if it's against your genes/background/nature, try to show others a little respect here while you're visiting this board. I'm not saying you have to like everyones stuff.. just be respective in your approach and maybe, if you have a real reason aside from being an -ss, you can rationally explain why you don't like something instad of the usual 'rice' only comment or it sux type statement.

<-hops of soapbox... continue you futile bickering.. :sigh:

i am still worried about flex in the spoiler #138 on this page
http://www.spoilers.com/wings/chevcamaro82.htm

would it be unsightly to reinforce it with a sheet of metal along the bottom edge of the wing ?

The reason people are worried the high rise spoiler would flex would be because you would have to remove part of its structure. It would leave you with holes that would always be a weak point. The version that is made w/o the inner most legs, is made solid w/o these holes. Ergo no weak points. Most spoilers are made with very thick plastic or fiberglass. I have had to cut up a few to make my front end pieces, so i Have seen the inside. I would not worry about the solid aftermarket version being strong. I think it would be.

Most average factory spoilers I see running around on other cars don't have the inner legs anyway. They have no flex issues. I think you would be fine with the aftermarket version. But I agree you should call if its strength concerns you.

And to Rev...Sorry some people have to be such jerks. I know the feeling. I get the same crap. I never asked, but got to hear it anyway.

Yes, I think it would look bad if you put a metal sheet on it.
