underhood insulation

Does anyone know where to get aftermarket hood insulation? On some newer cars it is more like a solid piece instead of a sheet of thick fiberglass(I dont think it is fiberglass, just an example ).Anyway,I think the solid kind would look much better.I did a search and only found one post and it was old.I have seen some custom ones at car shows so I know somebody has to make them. Thanks for any info!

Hey check out your local HVAC installer. They use this stuff called soundliner. It is basically the same stuff but nicer. It usually comes in rolls of say 50 to 100 ft. but they should be able to cut you a chunk off. Ask for 1 inch or 1/2 if you want to go thinner. Then you can just cut it to spec. It looks really nice when your finished.
