Your opinion on look is needed
Hey everyone,
I have an 88 Camaro SC convertible that I am thinking of having painted Kandy Apple red with white racing stripes... My problem is I have never seen a convertible with heritage stripes on it before and I don't want to drop 5k on a proper paint job to not like the look. I plan on putting the twin turbo hood on as well, so you can get the idea. Anyone have pics of their convertible with stripes? Anyone with the turbo hood and stripes? I also have the "88 only" shorty wing.
If the stripes don't work for me Kandy Apple red with ghost flames, is the next choice. Someone on the boards has this combo and it looks awesome. That particular car also had flames like embroidered into the door panels... Looked very cool.
I look forward to everyone's suggestions and pics.
James

Yup that is the exact one. I couldn't find his site for the longest time thanks for the pic and the subsequent link
The interior, especially the flamed door panels, is the best interior I have seen to date. How wrong of me is it to want to copy that? lol
ImportsRsloths:
I paid $250.00 for the whole set. Two front, power driver, and the rear back seat. The problem is I have a rip on the drivers side and a small unoticeable one on the rear of the passenger seat. (Hence why it was so cheap) Luckily I have a great upholstery guy and he said he would fix it cheap. I am getting new carpet throughout the car (the good stuff), All imperfetions on my seats fixed, my door panels customized, and my back sail panels covered in black vinyl to look like the front seats (Considering I have a convertible all they are is VERY dull looking cardboard, and after my stereo was literally RIPPED out they are just kind of hanging there) all for $525.00. I send everyone I know there, it's one of those small mom and pop shops that works on a lot of the custom cars in orange county and they are the ones that did my top. With the 4th gen center console I put it, the interior is really coming along.
Has anyone seen stripes on a vert though? I have searched so many topics using the friendly nighborhood search button, but it has yet to reveal a convertible with stripes

everything sounds great except:
NO turbo hood (get a 91-92 blister hood)
Paint you wheels white to match the stripes(here is a photoshop job I did for someone else to see what it looks like)

I really like the turbo hood and have yet to see a better hood except for maybe SS hood.
Do you have pictures of verts with stripes? Especially in the back... You say you don't like the, but give no examples as to why...
Examples are appreciated.

Thanks!
Thank you Quick6,
That is EXACTLY what I was looking for
I appreciate it. Now, I have to decide from those IROC (?) stripes or the heritage looking ones. Also would a viper blue with white stripes be better looking on a vert than red with white stripes?
Thanks guys for all of your posts,
James
