Quick firebird question...
I know my '87 formula didn't have one but, did any models (1987) of the firebird have a (outside) glass mounted 3rd brake light ?
I'm looking at a replacement for my dieing camaro and I'm curious if the hatch belongs to the car.

I just saw an '85 in the bone yard today with a brake light on the outside. Also a Camaro in there had one.
My T/A is an '86 with the brake light on the outside. Just swapped it for one without it.

Hey guys... thanks for all the replies
I looked at the car today which was supposed to be an 87 T/A (for $2500) and I don't know what this guy was smoking but, it had to be the good stuff.
This thing was a bigger pile of crap than my camaro (and I'm not exagerating (?sp.. I know that's wrong)) which takes some effort to accomplish
When the ice cream man stops while your looking at a car and states "when I saw him start it.. it smoked like a b----" (exact phrase), you know the car is a heap. It has some f'd up dual exhaust on it and... well.. I'm not going into all the details but... damm.... $2500... wow....
Just to note... it's an "87" and has the high mount 3rd brakelight.... hmm
I do have to say though.. the interior was exceptionally clean & nice
One thing also that stuck me as odd, it has the 'deluxe interior' seats, grey with a black center but, the rears were soild grey, slplit bench.. is that right ?
I should have taken my cam with me to show you guys... hindsight, huh ?

my horror story....
.....i went to look at a beater car for a neighbor a month ago
owner told me it was a 88 IROC with an original 350 that he converted to carb. he wanted ($500 for it)
car was a total wreck....new doors, (new to it) no pass window, 82-84 nose. But anyway he opened up the hood (RS hood with a hand made scoop rivitted on) looked inside and i almost crapped my paints. i couldn't tell what he put in there, it MIGHT have been a 350...but it looked like a older 350...all beat up and spray painted yellow. what threw me off was that the alternator was in the wrong spot!!!!
the GFX looked new to the car like the nose. interior was trashed. there was a Z-28 decal on the dash (not Z-28/IROC-Z)
it was auto with the round shifter.
anyway i ran the VIN and the only thing the owner was telling the truth about was that it was an 88 camaro.
VIN came back to a V6 i'm guessing SC.
....anyway moral to the story is if at first glance it sounds too stupid to be true then it is not.

oh buy the way we never called the guy back.
