Negative on these boards maybe. But in the real world I get nothing but compliments. I can barely get the car cleaned at a car shows because of the people comeing over asking me about the car and complimenting me on it. And no its not 90% ***** guys either. The kids love it, women love it, & I get guys of all ages applauding my well executed originality. Even some of the hard core street rod guys. So tons of negative attention, uh... Nope!
Once again it all comes back to your taste in cars.........everybody has their own opinions.....The bottom line "IT'S YOUR CAR".....

I get lots of compliments on my car in real life...........believe it or not, Some older hot rod people even compliment on it.......girls like it too

Amazing how when the adults start talking, the kids go away.

I just wanted to know if anyone has done any modifications besides wheels and hoods to make thier Camaro or Firebird look different and original, even if it means it being "*****," ugly, etc?
anyone else ever hear that song by weird al yankovic - dare to be stupid?

...Settle down, raise a family, join the PTA
buy some sensible shoes, and buy a Chevrolet.
And party 'till you're broke and they drive you away
It's OK! You can dare to be stupid!...

So are you trying to say original people are stupid? Or did you just use a bad example to try and say 'Its your car, do what you want with it?'

Correction: "The overwhelming majority of the attention paid to those rides FROM THE DOMESTIC SCENE is negative attention"

When I go to an Import Showoff or Import Show in general there are 10 times more people than @ domestic shows. Do you think they all go there to talk trash about those cars? Heck no! They go there because they like that style. Now just because YOU don't like that style dosn't mean EVERYONE else in the world dosn't either. For me personally, I think the attention to detail paid on the cars in these shows is great. Add the cool looking rides (maybe some are slow, but they look cool to me) with the women, the shows (booty contest, wet t-shift shows), the DJ battles, the breakdancing comps, and everything else .. and maybe its a scene you just dont like. Too bad for you.

Why whenever i see these kind of posts does the phrase "BEATING A DEAD HORSE" come to mind.....

think about it.........

The "stock" guys are never gonna change our minds......
The "original" people are never gonna their minds........

Kinda like doing a burnout........The engine is doing work, yet the car is not moving anywhere.....

Just because someone wants to improve the appearence of their cars, it doesn't mean that they are intentionally wanting their car to look faster. Even though someone's car looks fast but is not, it still doesn't mean that the owner does not have plans to make thier car faster. Most kids, well I'm 20 now so I guess I am not a kid anymore, but anyways most young people want to make thier car look KOOL. I want to add ground effects to my 87 2.8l firebird not to make it look faster, but to enhance the appearance. Although my car is much quicker than when I first got it, it is still slower most cars.

I like all cars that are customized, even if it is a Geo Metro with 14" wheels, a huge wing, and graphics on the side. It just shows that the owner wants to personalize his car. Sure the guy would probably get laughed at and get smoked at every intersection, but at least he is doing something to his car that he feels proud of and makes him happy despite what others say. Afterall, not everyone can afford to have fast cars.

Ok, aware on certain flaming responses to come I am going to throw in my 2 cents. The people that flame on these boards are pathetic. The boards are for asking questions and posting new ideas, not bashing people, especially when your little flamer attacks aren’t even related to the threads topic. News flash! Everyone’s different, nobody thinks the same. You guys are like the ****’s of the auto world. “Do things our way or suffer annihilation” ya know Well, Hitler’s dead….. and now days the world’s all about equal rights an such. People are allowed to do whatever they want to their cars. Doesn’t matter if you guys like it. Think about how many people are on Riceburner.org (or whatver the h*** kinda site they have ) bashing on the domestic drivers. Just because people do things differently than you do doesn’t make it wrong or “rice.” Ya’ll think Redraif’s car is rice. I say she’s more of a die hard third gen’er than any of ya. Look at how much time and effort (not to mention money) she’s put into her car making it the third gen she wants it to be. She can mod it all she wanted, it’ll never be a Honda. I feel I have to teach a lesson to the preschoolers here. What to do when you see something new. A) If you like it, compliment and ask questions or whatnot. B) If you don’t, say it’s not your thing and then SHUT UP...... How’s the saying go? “Opinions are like *******s, everybody’s got ‘em.” I know I’m not alone saying I’m tired of all the ones that stink on this site.

Redraif, love yur car :hail: I admire how much you’ve done despite the negative comments of our small minded fellow board members.

Ok Spider,

YOu know what is wrong with you. Nothing. I feel the exact same way. Just read my post above a little. If it wasn't for people wanting to change cars. the aftermarket world would not exist. Plain and simple. For everyone out there that doesn't have a stock car you have put change into your car which makes you "Just as differnt as us" some peopel do exhaust some people do appearance. some people put big wigs. some people put airbags **** some people put enough speakers in their cars to make their ear drums bleed till they die. We all do little things to out cars some bigger then others. To all the flamers how many things on your cars are not stock. I bet you have a different brand tire on your car then it came from teh factory with? Or a different brand of muffler. or hell even a different air cleaner. So think before you bash on our cars.

I like how a lot of you guys think you're being original when "Euro" styling is the hot thing right now and everyone and their mother is doing it. It's the same as the TTII's and Snypers, everyone is doing the big wings, wild paint jobs and neon stuff. It's called the current fad, everyone is doing it, how is that original?
