quadra jet?
what is quadra jet? i called on a 86 z28 with 87,000 miles for 1,500$ and they guy told me it was quadra jet when i asked him if it was tpi, what is that and which is better? i didn't know where to post this becuz i dont know what that is! ne help would be appreciated!

That means it's not TPI, but it has a carburetor. Most people think Q-Jets, suck but, they're quite good when tuned right. Only thing is, that means it has the LG4 motor, stock 165hp, which will run about 16s in the 1/4. The weak parts of that motor are exhaust, cam , heads.

Mark is right. If tuned properly the Quadrojet is fine. If you buy this car work on improving the exhaust, cams and headers. This thread should be in either the Carborator or Gen engine boards. Most LG4 questions are answered there.
