i have stock 15 inch rims and was wondering if it was a good idea to spray paint them crome. i wouldnt do a ghetto job i would prime them sand them paint them and then throw on some clearcoat. has anyone done this before?

 

It doesn't work very well...not only does it not look like chrome, but if you clearcoat it the stuff turns a muddy gray. If you're looking to make them look nicer on the cheap, get a can of rally wheel paint (argent silver)...it can be clearcoated, and will look nice enough.

 

cool, but their must be a paint that looks like crome out there somwhere. do you guys have any sugestions on what color to paint them, i wonder what black would look like, it would be like a trial thing, i can always go for ther paint stripper

 

Some powdercoatings and ceramic coatings look (sort of)like chrome, but nothing out of a can is going to look like chrome.

 

Try polishing them.. you can get them pretty shiny doing that.
