My New Recaro!!!

here she be..

]well if this post works..lol there she is ..my new baby..and yes its been ghettofied by the previosu owner..they painted over the gold on the bottom cuz it was ugly in there opinion..

for those who dunno... i paid 200 bucks for it...came with the original 305 LU5 cfi motor..and 200c tranny, when i picked it up it had a knocking 283 which is what i was told, ended up being a 327,ive since put my mildly built 350 in..and swapped trannys to a TH350 with a stage 2shift kit..and 2500 stall. im deciding now on paint options.. its staying black, but i dunno if i should add the gold strips on the bottom when shes repainteed..or jsut add the hood, and sail panel decals..
what you guys think?

Nice job on getting a pretty sweet car for only $200! I got my first car for $500.

Hey sorry to burst your bubble. The car you have isn't a recaro. The seats would be a lot taller and have a huge headreast with a mesh inbetween, and ***** on the sides for lumbar support and such.

You have the PMD open headrest seats that came on a lot of trans ams back in the early 80s. Unless the car came with recaros originally and were swapped out for the ones you have now. But Im going to venture a guess and say the seats you have are original stock.

Still sweet nonetheless. I just didn't want you to be confused.

Take a look at Don's Trans Am. These are the recaros.

What exactly makes a Recaro a Recaro anyway, and what does "Recaro" mean?

sorry to burst your bubble dood..but it is in fact a real recaro.. the original seats as well as the original 305 has been pulled out.car came with 2 motors actually..the original 305 has 80k odd miles on it..original recaros came with..as well as the original recaro ta door handles..ive spoke to the original owner..and his son didnt like the seats, the 305,or the door handles..so they ofund the other stuff and added it on. turns out..they paid 300 bucks for a supposed good running 350 core..and it endeed up being a 327 witha major rod knock..of which i now own hehe..its even small journal!

i know what a recaro is..and i even know don..ive met him personally and ive seen his car..its truly badass!

btw the red 350 in there is mine..i had to put that in there..its mildly built..around 300 horse nothing special but it moves teh car damn goooooood! the car also has swapped 3.73 posi rearend..the original 3.23 rearend is missing..*shrugS*

At first I thought you paid the for for 200 as it looks in the pictures. I was like OMG. How bad was it when you first got it?

Just curious, but in the engine compartment, what is the object between the washer fluid canister and the radiator hose?

Well I guess you have a a Recaro then. Sounds weird that the person would remove all that stuff. That's what makes the car I think! Oh well, like I said earlier, unless they removed all the recaro stuff with what you have now....

Good luck with the car! Long live the Firebird!
