i went to the rice side of the automotive world.kinda.....
-1991 eagle talon TSi turbo AWD automatic
101k miles,totally stock(for now )
red with black accents and spoiler(stock, not rice)

damn i must say i love the feeling of boost.i jsut wish i could get the better feeling of boost in a TTA.but i guess for now this will work.oh yeah i do still have the camaro, the talon is for daily driver, winter use, hence the purchase of an AWD version.cant wait to do some AWD drifts in a snowy parking lot!!!and NO i will not change the stock appearance of it,other than MAYBE rims.so tell me guys,am i rice now?
P.S. pictures will be posted in a few days,if not by tomorrow,if anyone cares

Talons are pretty cool and only rice if you rice them out. My daily ride is a turbo too.
Here's a pic for anyone who cares.

Aargh I would love to have one of those (manual though).

I really want a first gen DSM (talon/eclipse/laser) AWD w/turbo and manual. They respond so well to mods. If I didn't already have two cars I'd probably get one. Maybe when my truck dies, hehe.

I wouldn't consider it rice till you start buyin all that crap in the above photo before some real mods, and you still claimin it to be faster.

I have heard you can get them into the 12s on the stock drive train. AWD rocks!

My friend has a 95 TSi, manual, fart can and big rainbow wing. Runs 14.9. I really like the interior of the thing. Could do without the fart can though. Actually the wing doesn't look really that aweful.

If that car can do 14s in the quarter then it is NOT rice.

I think we all agree that rice is all "overdone show and not enough go."

Glad to see SOME people see it this way.

Rice = more show than go.

I have no problem with appearance mods on sport compacts... so long as you aren't faking what ya ain't got. I actually like some body kits and such.

No matter what it was you bought, you did it to save your baby from tons of miles, and the winter. I would rather see you in a ***** than the third gen during the winter!!! Let them die and save the best!

Hey Brett i'll trade you my Rs+my bmw (only worth about 800, but still) plus a grand or two for your murkur. Man if i could have found one here in decent shape i would have picked it up in a hearbeat. 180hp (i believe) 4cyl turbo rwd, american version of the escort cosworth rally car. Very nice cars.

Jokerman - I'm really thinking about that offer you made there. What are the specs on the BMW? Would it get me back and forth from college a hundred some miles and get 32 mpg like the Merkur does?

I like the talons, dated a girl with a turbo talon in 98 (manual transmission) It was a very nice car, but not as nice as the corvette her dad had sitting in the garage.

Umm, i was kinda jokeing since i am going to school myself and don't need to switch cars. No the bmw wouldn't be a good back and forth car, both floors are gone, the engine is iffy (had the head crack, uncle managed to pin and weld it back in the shops new aluminium head machine, but still not trusting it), its the old bosch cis feul injection system which means its a bugger of a beast to keep tuned, the cam will knock the rockers out of adjustment every 3000 miles or so. As for spec, about 115hp, 120torque, 1/4 in 18seconds or so, 25mpg on the high way with a 4spd and 3.64 gears, and absolutly horrible in snow. Now i would gladly sell just it for 500 or a bit less, but i wouldn't suggest makeing it a daily driver with out quite a bit of work. (oh ya its a 1978 bmw 320i 4cyl). Like i said though if i had the cash and such i would love to have a merkur xr4ti, but its a bit late.

Oh ya the engine bay is more than big enough for a 350 chevy (slant 4cyl so figure it out).
