5th Gen Ram Air Trans Am

This is how I think a 5th generation Trans Am might look like.

I kept it a t-top model, but made the tops body color to give it a hardtop look. I also gave it an HID fixed headlights.

I think the appearence of the 4th gen Trans Am looks absolutely perfect from the factory. The only thing I would change would be wheels.

I know some of you guys are going to hate it.

Looks ok.

I don't like the tail that much. I think it's the lights that are bothering me.

Well, anywayz. It's too bad, maybe in like 30 years or so. They might bring her back. Like the GTO.

I was kind of afraid of that when I added the fixed lights.

I think you are right Mark. I am working on a whole new 5th gen idea just for you. So far, it doesn't look like a 4th gen at all, but it does have a bit of thirdgen too it.

The one I'm working on now has a very small gap, but it is much lower than in the ones above.

I think the F-body should just be put out to pasture (as has happened) and retire gracefully (I'll never {want or desire to} own anything beyond a 3rdgen so I could care less anyways) then let the hacks at GM keep re-hashing & f'n it up as they been doing with every model car they make. Pontiac Aztec... need more be said.....
Your drawings are good though.

I think GM would screw up a 5th, or dissapoint a lot of us. I do think that if the Fbody is going to be killed, let it go out with a bang. It doesn't even have to go through an entire generation, just one one year, very limited numbers produced, a totally unique body style, and massive amount of horsepower, maybe even powered by an updated ZR4 engine from the Vette..

The revised 5th gen I am doing now is more edgy and angular like the new Lamborighini Merciello. I find it hard to picture a 5th generation firebird that looks new, but still retains the classic style.

I would like to see the El Camino return, but only if it is a V8 or maybe a Chevelle or Nova. All the great muscle cars never survived. Only a few companies still produce a V8 rear wheel drive car. The focus now seems to be on trucks and SUVs. I just realized that Dodge and Chrysler don't have a single V8 car!. Well, there is the Viper, but that's a v10.

GM is trying to replace the Firebird and Camaro with the SSR truck. *** that thing is ugly as crap. "You know Bubba, Ya can't shine a turd." Why am I starting to hate GM? A day I thought would never come.

Exactly what I was thinking. From one generation to the next, the changes have been more drastic than that.

It looks good, but the ram air bulges should be one. Fill in the canyon between the 2 humps, then it will look better. Also, re-route the tail pipes to be centered under the license plate.

Centered under the liscence plate? That would make the rear end a bit low to the ground then. I am close to finishing the revised one. I think I might add that idea in, sort of like Redraif's car, but I think I will just stick with 2 exists. I also got rid of the center channel. I am going to keep the twin ram air bulges, but I am making them more recessed into the hood so that the hood remains sleek and aerodynamic like on thirdgens. I also totally revamped the taillights too. They have a thirdgen appeal to them, but still are different.

Yeah, like Red Raifs, but doesn't have to be 4 exit tubes. I never liked the 98+ ram air hood on firebirds.

I would think something like a 93-97 ram air II hood would be better but with the slanted cutouts of the 98+ hood.

Hey those pics arent to bad man. Those headlights give it a bit of Nissan 300ZX look to it.

But anyways if GM ever brought them back, they would alot different, i mean look at the previous generations and how much they changed from one to another.

If they did anything it would look alot different.

... i think i just came...

GM needs to turn thier business over to some people on this board... I can personally put my life savings that we'd be able to turn that company around...

GM really is starting to suck... they can't do a damn thing right anymore... They say "Well people are buying them" Well jesus, when people want a new car, it's like choosing the lesser evil, they'll buy it but it still looks like ***...

The el Camino was a turd... it can't possibly be fixed up... car/truck? **** that...

The only 2 stock production vehicles that are currently made today that I would own, is the Dodge Dakota SS/RT 5.9 truck, and the 2002 ram air T/A, which is soon to be done with...

My thirdgen is getting a new motor, and once thats done being hotrodded and turned into a weekend cruiser, I'm going to need a truck, and the Dakota is going to be it. Screw this new age bull****...
