I plan to repaint my car, I want to change the color of it since the hood has faded and the body needs help. I currently have maroon with gold bottom z28 1987 camaro, I was thinking of painting the whole car red and painting the ground effects black and put to stripes down the hood and hatch (black) I didn't know if anyone has done this, or with any other colors, Im still not definate with what colors i want to go with. so if you could post pictures of your set up that has a variation with stripes. Which color shouuld i go with a base ?

 

Yeah red and black. If it were me I would use more black and red trim. But Its all red and stays that way till the 300 HP marker is met.

My favorite color is purple .... I don't think i will be putting that on my car tho, anyone have any pics of their third gen with stripes?
And my car has two decals in the middle with gril type flanges in them, Is that what you did to your white car? rip em out and paint over them?

 

I think a dark purple would be cool, or orange.

Can't go wrong with black though.

 

the red an black would look killer. that combination looks good on almost anything. in the end its whatever you prefer.

I think the color combo you said you have now is probably really pretty. But I'd go with red...or black or red and black or silver. I''m a bit partial to the silver though.

 

Go with a nice true red, that would look sweet w/ the black gfx and black stripes.

 

Why change the color? The maroon can be a really killer color if done well. This way you wont have to paint Jambs & undersides of everything if you didnt want to. I would just lose the gold, it will make the car look updated. Just a suggestion....

 

I rekon black or purple looks cool but are hard to keep in perfect condition.

Don't make the ground efx black, keep them the same color as the car....

 

I agree with what FLYNLOW92rs said! Because, If you do paint them the same color as the car, It will give it more of an "Iroc" look!

But, it is your car, do whatever you think looks best!

 

Aight Im going to go out and take pictures of my car soon once i have use of a digital camera and try to fabricate a paint job of the colors i would actually put on my car and then we can see
