confused about painting stuff

ok...I repainted the plastic front fascia on my 91. Wet sanded ., primed, wet saned, several color coats, 4coats of clear...

Have let it cure for a week now. Now..what do I do? It looks good. Nice and shiny, but how do I get that mirror quality reflection?

u should wetsand it again now and then buff it out. use like 1500 to 2000 grit sand paper and make sure it is always wet and just go over the nose nicely, not ruff and then get some 3m perfit it polish and use buffing compuond first , buff it out and then polish it out.

There are hundreds of types!!! you have to pic the one that suits you, your equipment & your paint etc sounds complicated but its easy. quite often rubbing combound is refered to for hand use.
if you buy something that is called buffing compound you generally buy a real coarse paste for use on lambs wool but if you buy a liquid cutters its most suited to a foam buff pad.
after you cut it back you need to brighten up the colour thats why we use 3m perfect it GLAZE this will bring out a great shine but will not protect it like polish so thats why you hand polish as well hand polishing helps remove any swirls.

This is a pic of what I use

Ok...now I have a much better idea what's going on. Going over it now with 1500 grit paper and rubbing compund by hands.

liquid cutters and glaze via machine coming next.

Will post pics when I finish. OOOOOOooooh, I think its gonna look good!
