thirdgen calendar??
eric, that's another thing i needed to talk to you.....
one of my "investors" in this project owns a modeling company so the girls should be covered, but we don't want any outside influence as to how to use the girls so i'm looking for those who are into thirdgens for their suggestions on this especially to work closely with the group.
also, if it is decided to go with models we need some pictures that will give good ideas as to the location of the models so anyone who has some pg pics of models with cars or even better thirdgens that could show where and not where to stand would be great...
eric, this might give you something to do with your spare time if you don't have any pics!

Third gen pin up calender
This has been discussed already, and to my surprise it ruffled some feathers. I'm all for women on, in, under, around the cars. I totally disagree that it is in any kind of bad taste and makes women look like propety. It's just two very, very nice things to look at, which is perfect for a calender.
I was hoping to gets some pics of my honey modeling with my ride, but I just got it running about a week ago and it is too damn cold for a bikini now. You guys got my support.

thank you for pointing that out.....i did not see that thread for somereason..
either way this is something that we plan to do for sure; so far were already started working on one that features detroit muscle and no girls.....all modified up to date vehicles no older than 82.
the thirdgen was an idea that i had come up with because of working so closely on my own and frequenting this site regularly. it is not set in stone how it will be done; but i have yet to find a professional calendar that features a nice group of thirdgens.
if we go through with this, girls or not, this will be a 16 month calendar that will feature any type of car 82-92, but it has to be modified tastefully in one form....but can't be extreme. cars that are extreme will make us have to pay royalties.
so if it was done professionally along the same lines as the above firebird calendar but thirdgen only would you support it?

You after a calendar to honor thirdgens or just another of the many calendars with cars and babes? Id vote for just the thirdgens.

i would like to add the girls..........what guy doesn't like hot girls and hot thirdgens.......?
but think of the market your killing for the rest of the people who would be interested when you know that the percentage that would buy it with girls would buy it without if it was done right?
i don't know, that's why i'm asking.
if i get 50 people that say they would go for it then i'm going to push.......otherwise i'll let it die like the last. although let me remind you guys that this would be a very professional calendar and i think if done right might even change how the public looks at thirdgens in general.
let me know what you think.

I know frybrd86 (spelling right?) Had orginally planned one but later ended up quitting. His of course had no women in it, but it was a good idea with some good looking cars.

I think it would be easier to do one without girls because then you could use pics from various people on the boards if you wanted and they wouldn't have to drive to Michigan for a "photoshoot".
Girls or no girls, I'd probably buy one, especially if my car was in it

face about it.
My vote goes for without girls! I'd buy one if it had only cars. My wife would frown on getting the "babes" edition and in todays workplace, the professional male could get into diversity troubles with female coworkers if he pinned it up at work. It's easier to produce and targets a larger segment of buyers.

As long as it is tasteful! You know, no CAMEL TOE or anything like that. I would like to have one with both. If not, the cars had better be really bad *** or super clean stocks! Just my opinion. Let me know if you need a pic of my car or my girlfriend.

yeah I was originally working on it, got pretty far too, but then it all fell apart cause I got really busy with other priorities in life at the time.
I'm actually going to school for Visual Communications now and I have all the high powered software to do fun stuff the rite way, maybe some day I'll see what I can do on my own, small scale.
If you do go through with this I'd love to see my car in it, if possible

I think it's a great idea as long as the women don't look like the farm animals that all of the low budget hot rod calendars in K-mart have.
My only complaint about the models is that it would make it impossible for me to put the calendar up at work where I'd get to see it all day.
I guess I'm split on the idea.
But as for the cars... I think it would be great to see it made up of thirdgen.org members.

Um, grow up? Jesus, I am 21 years old in college. Must be "immuture" of me to want to have women pose with my cars.
Jeff lets make a calander for the boys on the ball and chain and the guys who like women.

One of the things I am shooting for (that is if I could get a girl to do it) is to get a topless girl to be in the picture with my car with her standing inside with the top of the winshield strategically placed to cover any "exposed" body parts. Just something I want to do!!

All i have to say is that if there was NO girls in the calendar....
There better be some damn good looking cars to make up for the missing of beautiful half naked women.....

I'm married. I still want one with the women in it. Hell my wife wants to pose on my car. She knows she will be the sexiest one of all the months, that probably why she isn't mad. As far as hanging it up at work, I work in a garage where ladies are few and far between, so no problem there.

I say go for it! Either way its a kickass idea. Of course the hardest part is that everyone wants thir car in the calender. I think thats gonna be the worst. I say take a picture w/ and w/out girls. See which ones come out the best? I would love one w/ girls. My g/f wouldnt care, hell, she'd probably pose, she models herself! Yea thats what i'm talking about.

Jeff, your "investor" said he has some girls right?
I can get some girls to pose. Would have been a lot easier if I will still with Jenny, could get all her friends to pose. G O D Dam n it, another reason why I miss her.

I'll buy 1 with girls in it
I'll buy a second (for the office) if no girls are in it.
As Scott M said above, it's hard to pin up "bikini / car" calendars in an office these days.
From a marketing point, there shouldn't be any fewer sold if girls are NOT in it.
Because we're really buying the calendar for the cars....
There are plenty of generic "car/girl" calendars out there already..
Also, there are women ( f-body enthusiats ) on this board and I can appreciate where they're coming from...... I wouldn't buy any calendar with guys in it...period.
Whatever gets decided, lets do it SOON !!
I vote for a nice '82 Pace Car shot in there someplace...
Pacer...

I'd take one either way, but I mean...being female I don't want to have women in it...for me it takes away from the car.
Actually I don't think it takes away from the car so long as it's done tastefully (the "topless" comment I made earlier was seriously just joking, by the way
). That's why Lowrider magazines and such annoy me, they FOCUS THE CAMERA on the girl! I think it makes a nice enhancement when you have a cute girl standing next to the car, but having these big busty women in bikinis with the camera focused on them when the focus shoudl be on the cars is just moronic to me.
