i was on hawks third gen parts site.. and there's a hood for my 92 camaro that i would love to have.. the only thing is it's a ram air hood.. and i have mpi not tpi.. i can have the look but can't use the ram air feature... is there any way around that so that it won't just be for cosmetics? any help would be greatly appreciated the link for the hood is http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...il?v=1&pid=837

 

Search the readers rides for Redraif. She has a ram air hood on a 2.8 Firebird and has fabricated herself a ram air set up. It CAN be done. I have seen hers in person and it is nicely done.

If you are set on that hood then just get it. Worry about making it functional later. Once you have it on the car the motivation will be there to sort out any minor problems.

 

I think Hawks also sells that air filter set up.

 

yes i saw the box on there.. but from what i read and understand... and that aint all the much.. the ram air was designed for tpi.. not mpi.. as i was looking at redraif's ride i saw that she was mpi.. so that makes me think that it is possible.. just have to do it right...

 

You know, that is the first time I've seen her engine, that is quite nice lookin for a 2.8 . Good job.
