does this sound likea reasonable price

ok first off its for a mustang, dont hate me! The only reason i am asking here is becuz i have always recieved sound advice on these boards. Ne ways here it goes its a 1995 mustang gt, 5.0. auto trans, it does have 95,000 miles on it, the guy is a biologist so he had to drive to different lakes to test fish and what not hence the high miles. His dad is a mechanic and a real gear head made sure he changed the oil every 3,000 miles, uses synthetic oil, and just had all new spark plugs and wires put on. It has the boss mach stereo system in it with a new sony xplod head unit put in and its extremely clean in and out. He wants $5,000 i think i can get it for 4,000$ maybe 4200$, what do you think? Also how much hp does it have, i think around like 240, its totally stock?

on a side note i do still plan on getting a thirdgen, my plan is to work all winter get my bodily injury money and pick up my thirdgen when it gets nicer out but i need a realiable newer model car right now that gets better gas milage, i am even thinking about a 6 banger stang or 4thgen.

If its in good shape, I'd say its a good price.

Don't get a 4th gen, get a nice IROC, GTA, or 91/92 Z28

Im not a real big fan of Mustangs, I guess thats why I own camaros. Thirdgens are nice and parts are available. Unlike a 4th gen, you arent afraid to do something radical. Good luck on your decision

OK about the stang... the price sounds about right if you can talk him down to about the $4,000-4,500 range. the 94-95 Stangs were the last year with the old pushrod 5.0 (in 96 they went with the SOHC 4.6) They were rated at about 210HP give or take 10hp...i cant remember.

However, you didnt mention whether it had power, leather ect.

About the stereo...i dont think there was anything ever called the "boss" mach sound system.. unless you are talking about the Mach 460. Stock it sounds alright. 1 problem, it is all or nothing. And by that i mean you cant just change the headunit or just the speakers... The system is run on 8 ohms and is designed to work with each other. You change one thing (ie. speakers, headunit) and it sounds like crap (so i have heard)..

Mustangs are not that bad.... usualy the underdog but the 4.6 (exspecially the 99+) have great potential. if you would like a whole slew of info on stangs i would recommend www.stangnet.com or any other sight like it.... www.corral.net www.mustangworld.net I am on stangnet under the same username (Saleen201)

The 94-98 Stangs do have potential (see pic) but i would recomend getting a 3rd gen camaro/firebird.. you just cant beat them for the price vs. power potential!!

-Mike
