i guess its a matter of opinion. i know that more imports have neon than domestics. i dont know why, but thats just the way things have gone.

i installed all the neon on my car inspired by how it looks on imports, because there are no examples of domestics with glow around here.

i dont really have anything against done-up import cars, people call them "r!ce". i don't. as far as im concerned, its simple. the name "r!ce" comes from how much r!ce oriental people have in their diet, and therefore is a racial term. If someone is using this racial term in a derogatory manner, it becomes racism, which is not for me.

i dont think import styles belong only on imports. I can appreciate some neon, or a decal, or Whatever on a domestic car if it looks good to me.

SO i'd have to say NO, neons are not meant only to be installed on imports.

just my 2 cents

Nope neons are not just for imports, they have just made them more popular. Here is my car in a car show. Sorry the images are not really clear.

Thanks!

Still working on getting those to come out. They always seem to blur so bad on me. What i actually have in the bay is not Neon, but 25 watt "egg" Lights. They are small round lights the size of the smaller fog lights. I have 4, one in each corner of the engine bay. They are meant to shine at up at the mirrors when I get them under my hood. Even w/o the mirrors, they really light up the Polishing that we have done. Good it you break down as well.

The interior neons are under my seats and in the cargo area as I Showed. The string lights will probably go. They look good lit, but look crappy in the day.

i know what you mean.. those little buggers can look so good when done right, but during the day, they're not nearly as pretty.

thats really why i haven't looked into it. plus that stuff is damn expensive around here, too.

i mounted my interior neon under the dash. since that i've helped on the same technique on about 4 cars. people love it.

my first 15" sub that i had was white, and pretty thin... so i decided to mount a blacklight inside the box.

it turned out to be a really neat effect, with little pie-shaped parts of the sub glowing purple from the blacklight. (separated by the posts underneath)

course, time came to upgrade the sub, and the blacklight got removed cuz it wouldn't show thru on the new one.

i wish i'd taken pictures. dumb of me not to.

That could work. They would cover the front and back seat at the same time. I have 9 in ones for the front floor board area and 15s for the back seat floor board.

Not to offend anyone, but I would rather spend my money making my car go faster, rather than spending money on neons.

I thank you for the way you stated you opinion. No offence here. Well I have an LT1 on the way, so the fast part has not been neglected. But I also have a sponcership now with Liteglow, so its not a $ issue. I just have to go to the shows I would go to anyway and display their product.

Mine I got from Autozone. They are made by quest. The have a positive and negative wire. You just run a power lead from a switch to the positive and ground the ground wire. They are only visible if installed out in the open. They do not put out enough light to produce a glow from behind things like neon tubes. You can cut it any length. It was $20 per 5 feet I think. Though it might have been $10. Its been a year and 1/2. That and I'm getting old and I have CRS. :sillylol:

Also Advance is carrying Optix a street glow brand. They are just as good or better I would guess. As far as some having a cigarette lighter power cord. You can cut off the cigarette lighter input and you will have 2 wires. One is positive one is neg. Power it off a switch instead.

okay kool, thanx for the info. becuz with my sub box ill show a pic but it has a lip where the plexiglass cover is and im goin to put a small hole to run the wires in and im goin to glue the neon tube around the inside of the box and then use the switch deal to turn it on when i wanna show people or even for a car show deal.

see where the black is on the glass right under it is like a lip or about an inch and half of wood or mdf and thats where im goin to run the stuff. i think it will be a pretty cool addition to my car and my box.

theSteve,

***** is a derivitive of "**** Burner", a term used to describe Japanese crotch rockets. I think it just kinda carried over and was in use before the import craze. I dont claim to be a linguist but thats how I remember it, blame it on the Harley bikers

Being lit up like a UFO is not my style but I can appreciate the efforts, my attempt lately is restricted to PC mods:

Here are my neons, a ceramic blue 80mm fan in a clear sidewindow and a 450 watt lighted 3 fan power power supply:
