neon pin stripes and locked threads

first of all what do you think of that new neon like pin striping you can get??? i saw it on crank n chrome.

too tacky??? or what??? they kinda are wearing out the neon thing.

[just a side not not part of the main topic]

far as locked threads go i rather see them deleted than locked. if it is so off topic it needs to be locked, then there is no reason to leave it up, just delete it.

but we do have some freedom here, just try and post in motor swap with out a special invite.

We wouldn't have to worry about locked threads if people would stop posting stupid stuff. One example is the guy who's sig test got locked... so he goes and posts ANOTHER topic saying "haha its funny, my sig test got locked". Was it REALLY NECESSARY to post that? Some of these people are actually driving me away from the boards.

I see what youre saying man, there are some guys who always like to ruin it for everyone else, you cant let them win.

Neon striping... do you mean the interior neon that you can flex to follow the contours of anything? I personally think it is a cool little innovative thing, but, I think it would look better in a 4th gen since we have more "squared" interiors, and the 4th gens are a little bit more rounded.

I dont think it is tacky btw... but, I also have neon on my car, so Im partial

on the neon...if its used on the interior tastfully (dont outline EVERYTHING with some gaudy color) its really kinda cool...but please dont put that stuff on the outside of the car (i assume you mean the light up flexable kinda optic fiber stuff you can buy?)...a friend of mine did it to his civic (sorry..i know rice)it WAS a nice looking car...but for some reason that stuff just really made it look fugly...umm...try getting someone to put neon strips on a pic of your car to get an idea first.

yea it was just like applying regular pin stripes but it would glow with a small ammount of voltage, came in diffrent colors,

if i got every neon product for inside and out side of my car, and get a glow in the dark paint job.

how many UFO repots would be on the 6 oclock news.

thinking abuot that, anyone even seen a glow in the dark paint job????

I have been on a few different camaro boards, and I have noticed a theme that is pretty consistant; the general looking-down on neon lights on camaros. Personally, i do not see what is so wrong with neon on camaros, as long as it is done tastefully. I agree that too much may be gaudy, but, as your car is an extension of your personality and personal taste and preferences, why not neon if you want to?

yes they have glow in the dark paint and i've seen a few jobs...

and as far as neons, you should do what you like just keep it relative and subtle or at least in good taste

i have 2 undercar sets on mine that change colors with the paint as well as moderate red pinstriping on the inside and a few neon tubes hidden under the hood and through out the interior. i also have police package strobe lights and colors that change with the paint. overall it's ruffly 50 feet of neon; which sounds like a lot and too much, but it's all done tastefully. lots of people look down on neon, i don't know why; i've never heard a complaint once someone's seen it in person they usually ask where they can get a set.

in short, do what you like; personally though i would stay away from the stuff your talking about; it doesn't last that long and looks somewhat tacky (especially in the day). everything i run is made by streetglow and works really well.

you can check them out at www.streetglow.com, just don't buy anything from their site. check for a local dealer otherwise you'll pay more than double.

good luck.

Yeah, Ive seen a few as well, but not on cars, only on Dirt Bikes and ATVs... pretty cool, but Im sure the authorities wouldnt take kindly to a bright glowing car cruising along! If I got pulled over for my neon because it was distracting, then whooooo!

I am running 2 48" neons under the doors and one small one above the passenger's feet. All are purple and I think they look good. Im going to add Blue to the front and rear hookups sometime in the future so I will be running two tone neon under the car.

I was extremely skeptical when the previous owner told me the car had neon, but once I hooked it up, I was like, hmm, I think its gonna stay!

And anyone who calls it rice is needs to do research because Neon has been around on cars since the 50s!

I don't think that I will get neon for outside the car. Too expensive to risk breakage. I was thinking maybe under the front seats, to dimly light the floorboards, and something in the hatch, once I get my system set up with subs and all.
