Rent a Carpet/upholstery cleaning machine from your local rent a center. This would be the best way to clean your interior. About the cleaning solution, check and see what they reconmmend with the machine. The cost should't be that much and it will do a very good job.

Armor All makes a good upholstery cleaner, at least it's worked well for me. It goes for, I don't know - $4, $5 a can, and I can clean front and rear seats and carpet (not the hatch area) with one can if it's not filthy. I have also used my wife's Little Green in the past, worked OK, but it seemed to take forever to dry.

Armoral does make a good cleaner, but it depends how bad the stains are. Using a vacuum on seats takes forever to get all of the stains out. Think of how many years of spilt whatever you are pulling out of that cussion. They might get rid of it on first use, but they will more than likely "bleed" back as the say.

Some might think this is crazy, but I have done this before. Pull the seat out and take it a self serve car wash. Set it in the bay and hose away. It will only cost you about $4.00 to do all of your seats if you want. To dry, just set them out in the sun for a few hours, baring cold weather and rain. Or if you have a deisel/kerosene 1200 BTU portable heater like I have, then that will dry them a little quicker. It works trust me.

StngKlr, I don't say your crazy because at my detail shop we use a simular method. We do a lot of cars for the dealer autions in the Chicago area and many times we are cleaning peoples lives(especially when the fcar has been repoed)out and we pressure wash the seats. That after treating the seats with everything from SimpleGreen to Tide on cloth seats. We use whatever works to get that seat clean. Sometimes we have had to use tar remover(which cleans everything) or a highpower degreaser. Then we pressure wash but try not to soak too bad and wetshop vac. This will draw all the dirt and nasty stuff out. Then take a clean towel and wipe down again. Seats should look new. You really don't have to take your seats out to do this but if you do you might as well do your carpets also.

Ahh yes, the tricks of the trade. Yeah I detailed cars for over a year myself. Theres about 10 different ways do one thing, I just used the fastest and cheapest method for cleaning anything. Time is money so... I'm kinda glad I dont do it full time anymore, a few every now and then is alright.

I forgot about that method. I rustproofed cars at a dealer years ago and would sometimes watch the used car prep guys do that - it really does work. As I remember, they were rather quick about it, tried not to use a great volume of water, and then I think they would sometimes use a wet/dry vac to get the excess water out of the car. I don't remember what they did to dry it out though.

Oh, yeah - as far as the Armor All stuff goes, my seats never have been really that dirty, so I guess I haven't given it the "Ultimate Test".

cleaning seats

have 2 spray bottles one with water and the other with simple green diluted to 25 percent simple green and 75 percent water. pray the seats down with the water then the simple green. Scrub with a soft brush. after a few minutes of sitting spray the seats with water then wet vac the seats. Dont soak the seats to bad especially if you have electric seats. once seats are dry spray them down with scotchguard.

scotchguard

yeah it comes in a spray can you can find it anywhere. It does a good job protecting against restaining and spills can be wiped up before it soaks into the carpet or upholstery since it beads up liquids nicely. I think scothguard is made by 3M
