What to do about paint?

Car: 91 firebird now
Engine: 305
Transmission: 5 speed
What to do about paint?
Ive been looking at a 92 bird to buy, the paint is oxidised and I was thinking either buffing it up or repaint. Anyone know what I can do to get the paint looking good again with out a repaint? When i get the car I will post pics for all to see.
