Wouldn't it be cool if the louvered hood was funtional or if you could make it that way.

how did you make it fully funtional? If its TPI, the air intake is about 100 miles away from the opening in the hood

Oh man
It was late when I posted this.. I meant that the flaps themselves are operative...I didnt modify anything sorry guys, but it seems to cool the top of the plenum a bit.
Again I apologize for being dumb and unclear
here is under the hood itself--

i have that hood on my 83 camaro, but, those flaps are stationary, that gives me an idea, im going to go hunt for one of those hoods and make it into a ram air kind of setup with an open element air filter.

That's a pretty neat setup, and a good idea. It would be REALLY beneficial for a car like mine! My '83 T/A came with the functional power-bulge hood scoop, but unfortunately when I bought it, it was no longer functioning.
Solution: I ripped out the mechanism so that the scoop opens right up into the engine bay & I switched to an open element air filter.

I had one of those hoods. Then I crashed it
Anyways, the guy who put the hood on with my TPI attached a cable from the flap to the throttle cable. That way the flaps would open mechanically and depended on the throttle position for the flap position. It was pretty slick too. I think he used a bicycle brake cable, it's been a couple years.
I've got some pics of the car with the hood in the links in my sig.

Jesse
