It depends on the width of the rims. If you are running a 7" wide rim, the widest you can go is the 235-245 range, with the latter on the bulgey side.

1982chevycamaroz28 is running a 255/60/15 tire on 7" wide rims. If I remember looking at BFGoodrich's site that's as big as you can go on a 7" wide wheel.

I run 275/50/15's on the back of my car on 15x8" Weld Pro Stars.

295 50 15's they fit on my 82 t/a without a problem stock 15x7 camaro wheels

Yes, you can make larger tire sizes "fit" on a 7" wheel but you will get uneven tread wear patterns.

Wow Mark thats crazy!! Are they unstable with the sidewall at an angle like that? Would they be safe for roadracing?

actually the wear rate was just like any other tire. i bought the set used just to burn off
and crazy...they actually handled better then the 245/60s i had on it previously...im not sure about safety...but id road race em...they seemed very stable...and sidewall flex was a minumum.
heres the burnout pics from the 295/50s. i have more if you want em dont wanna hijack this thread lol

But what tire pressure are you running at in order to get normal tread wear???Originally posted by MarkB

back to the topic, i ran 255 50 16's on my 16x8 iroc wheels and did think they wore a little more un-even than my 245's.
Before i had run 275/60/15's on my stock 15x7 steel camaro wheels. Always burnt the centers down first, unless i ran about 24-27 psi in them.
