weather stripping

Hi guys, question: Weather stripping on my 88 bird on both doors is "worn out" (nonexistent), and need to get it fixed before too much water gets into the car. Just needed to know if anyone had installed it before. Is it easy to install, or is it a pain, and easier to get a mechanic to do it? and approximately how much does it cost? My t-tops are fine, its only the stripping by both doors

Very easy install. Took me less than an hour per door, for a complete set.
I got mine from classic industries, a repro set was over $200 (for top and bottom, plus filler strip) for both doors. The original GM set is significantly more.

The website is http://www.classicindustries.com , you can also get it from yearone.

If the weather stripping is original there'll not be much glue on it, and apart from a start and finish screw, it's held in by plastic lugs. Just peel it away from the door, and re-fit the new stuff in the reverse procedure. All the plastic lugs are pre-fitted in the new stripping, and should come will some fitting instructions.
