Question about putting in clear lenses...

So I opened up my hood, look at the clips inside, and I have no idea how to take out the old amber side markers??? I tried squeezing the clips, I tried moving them, but I think it would help me to know EXACTLY how I take them out?!?!?

The side marker lights are easier to get to from underneath the car. The actual lenses are held in by cotter pins. The bulbs are simply pressed in then turned. You should be able to spin the counter clock-wise and they should pull straight out.

the clips for the lenses are easy. just pull them up so they are at a 90 degree angle, then pinch it and the clip should come right out.

I don't know what kind of clips or pins you have holding in your lights, but no one else has cotter pins holding theirs in...

These are cotter pins:

The clip holding the lights in is facing one way flip it the other way and it might take a little jigglin but it should slid out. Then just put the clear one in and reverse the process.

um... i don't think mine is a clip then

mine has these 4 brackets, they're like in the same of a U upside down, and they are set up in the 4 corners like this:

u u

n n

then these pins, i think it's 2, go and link the bottomleft one to the topleft one (one there), and the bottom right one to the topright one (another), and and this pin has a pigtail in the middle of it. the pin looks kinda like this

n--------o--------n

that would be the sideview i guess.

whatever you want to call them just flip them over (they are probably pretty tight) use a little elbow grease and they will flip over and loosen. Then just wiggle them a little and try both ways and the will slid out. Then take out the light, put in the new one and put them back in and flip them over. When done they should look just like they did before, if they are loose you did it wrong.

Not too tough.
