polishing nitrous bottle
I dont think there ISNT ANY part on any 82-92 Third Gen on here that someone HASNT polished...
Polished is great...but man, everyone is doing it...
Polish this, polish that, polish my lenses, AC, NOS, exhaust tips, crossmembers...
So yeah, polish the hell outta it!

i think that blue has established itself as the color of nos bottles. polishing just won't look the same... u know what i mean... it's all about the blue and red man
i mean, what if we changed our christmas colors to pink and yellow.... could u picture santa in pink and yellow?

NOS (I believe it was) advises against polishing or plating your nitrous bottle. They say this removes an un-uniform later of metal from around the bottle [making some patches thinner than others] resulting in a weaker structure of the bottle.
NOS has established itself as the blue bottle, yes... but NOS is just a brand name. Nitrousworks ship yellow bottles, ZEX ships purple bottles, etc..

NOS recommends not to polish a bottle, but they'll be happy to sell you a polished one....
Strip off the old paint and polish it just like any other aluminum...thats all it is. They probably just warn against polishing so some moron doesn't take a body grinder to the side of his full nitrous bottle and blow himself up!
Chroming, on the other hand, is a BAD idea...it can cause hydrogen embrittlement (really bad at 950psi) and lead to bottle failure.

What kinda car is it anyway? Trans Am Vert? If it is a Fbody it must be a Vert, or is it... no don't say it, R.I.C.E.
Now to the real topic. I wouldn't suggest doing the bottle yourself just to follow they're suggestions. I can't see it costing to much more to buy the Chrome ones right from the company itself. Better safe then Sorry! After all we are talking about highly explosive stuff here.
