I was wondering what those seats came in. I know they are super rare. I guess thats why. They are kind of cool actually.

Pricing. We will have an idea once the fiberglass man looks at it. We have to see how many mold he has to make (top, bottom....). We will probably make the 1st run a group purcahse to keep the costs down. Do a run of 10 or so...

I will let you guys know as soon as possible!

The targa is waiting on a group purchase for rollcages. We were trying to get a group together to save on shipping and have them sent to GA. So far I'm it. So i may just get a cage at Barnett and be done with it. Shipping for 1 added to the GP $ on the other brings it to Barnett's price anyway. So i may wait a touch more to see if anyone else bites, then just got to Barnett. We have to have subframes or the cage in before we car cut the car.

Shannon, let me know when you want to do the cage deal. I might be ready to do the one in the TA then if my other deal falls through.

We're going to Hawk's Saturday to check it out, and take it over to the fiberglass guy. Bruce mentioned putting it on one of his cars to get an idea how it looks, and take some pictures.

The notch looks great...much better than I expected. We dropped it off with the guy whos going to make the mold Saturday afternoon. He'll be getting back with Bruce with a cost estimate soon. The current plan is to do a GP (the first run will probably be 10, more if demand warrants it). We'll post details as soon as we get them.

Saw it and took many pictures. Now its up to the delevloper to hurry it up. We got pics of it on a bacl camaro. It was on a lift, so I could not get full body shots, but I got the notch and how it fits and looks form all angles! The inside glass is pretty cool. It sits in a channel in the bottom and the top and sides snap into these clips that hold it tinght to the weather strip...really cool.

The fiberglass guy seems confident he can do it. He has to figure out if there is any internal bracing and then he can go ahead and begin with the mold. He was not sure of pricing yet.

The guy has to separate my hatch first...to see what is inside bracing wise, before he can truely say what a mold will cost. Then Hawks has to check into the hardware situation. That back glass is held in by some weird stuff. Well hopefully, I will have the pics back tonight.... that is if they can get the pics facing the right way on the CD, or even loaded on the CD! There is only one girl at the photo place I trust, but I don't know if see will be the one developing! I will find out tonight!

The only question is GTAuto still around...I have heard conflicting responces.

As far as a GP on this notch...that is what Hawks wants to do. I'm just waiting for a price range and then I can get who is interested and let Hawks know, so they can do a run!

i think the gta ones are gross (just like every other disgusting aftermarket one ive seen) , i want one but ill wait for the stock looking ones, the others make it look like my hatch is trying to give birth

edit: dont mean to be offensive or rude, just my opinion

Hes going to cut yours open to see if theres any bracing in it????

Jesus Christ!

Id think if he wasnt certain about bracing, he could insert reinforcement rods at his own discretion, and see how they turn out. Id be ****ting myself with the notion that they were cutting that thing up, even if they are going to make more of them.

Id need a 6 pack before i could say yes to that, hehehe.

I cant wait to see how this turns out... I don't want one, but its so cool anyway!!! I love working with 'glass....

That was a bit disconcerting, but its not that big a deal to bond it back together. If I hadn't met the guy, and seen his shop, I'd be worried, but he knows what he is doing.

I about fell over when it was suggested too. I was like cut it up, I just got it...nooo! But he is a pro, this has been his career. I saw some of his work on some convertible pieces and it is amazing! I think he will do the notch justice. Maybe even make it better then it is!

Well, im glad to hear both: That you guys also were worried, and that he appears to know what hes doing...

My only beef with it is that the mod will essentially be hollow, so inserting reinforcement bars could be done later, if the first hatch doesnt come out strong enough.

But once that one is cut, its cut. Sure you can bond it back together, but its just like restoring a classic.... Its never the same as all original.

But, if hes really good, i guess you just have to trust. Cant wait to see the results.

OK I finally got in touch with the girl, Ann, who can put stuff on the CDs correctly. Believe it or not I went in Sat to get my pics after dropping them off Thursday (for 1 hour!). They had done the pics, but not the CDs! Ugh! But Ann is there today, so I'm leaving work early, so I can make sure the photos are all facing the right way before they are transferred to the CD! So let all pray I will have them tomorrow!

Hmm... I like it. It DOES look different than a Stock one, but i think you've already concluded that. It appears as if the two "ribs" that run down the sides are a bit taller off the deck than then are on the factory ones, but im gauging that off the pics you posted plus the pic of the Red notch on pge 1...

Looks good though, id have to see it on a TA with wheels sitting on the ground to get a better idea though.... I still may want one...

No word on cost yet...we're figuring retail should be comparable to a hood or some of the other notches available, but since we haven't sourced the detail stuff yet (weatherstripping, latches, rear window) we can't say for sure. It should be fairly soon though!

Well the fiberglass guy had some personal problems come up that has caused a bit of a delay, but he is still working on reproducing it. Good news is that he does not have to cut open the original...that had me worried...so soon I hope to have mine back for more pics on the 82 & to test fitment. As soon as i get work on a production date I will pass it on to you guys... I know the innner hardware is going to be a challange (clips to hold rear glass) as well as weatherstrip that seals well! Can't have you guys having leaks!

I also have a factory Notchback GTA.

Yes,those rear seats were usedin the Notches and then reused in the TTA's.
