My opinion is this. Go with the GTA hood or a Ram Air I/II hood. I do not like the cowl induction hood at all. They don't fit the Firebird lines at all. They seem to look alot better on Camaros. I wouldn't be able to live with the lack of visibility either.

If you use the cowl, I'd do as IHI did...they look much better, and more "Pontiac", if you use the grilles out of your original hood.

Both the RAM AIR II hood and the Cowl (in a 4inch) look really sweet on that body style. Its just a matter of what look you like better.

That paint pic is hard to tell cause everything is red and kinda blobbed together, here's a earlier pic that's easier to decifer cowl lines.

It's a fiberglass cowl molded onto a GTA hood. I bought the cowl offf a guy on E-bay (still have his personal number/e-mail cause we keep in contact) for $75. It did'nt look right on my factory non GTA hood, now it looks killer IMO. Here's what it looked like when I first got it in the mail-you can see why I had to go GTA-way too much dead space in front of the cowl. Frank also makes 2" fiberglass cowls that stretch the length of the hood like a true aftermarket for the same price of $75. I needed the clearence though of the 4".

I don't like cowl hoods taller than 2 inches because it looks like the car has a high forehead. I always like having something different and the GTA hood would not cut it for me, but compared to the cowl, I would just stick with the GTA hood.
