white face overlays warning and question...
hey guys....i guess this is both a warning and a question......the other night i was driving around with my friend and i noticed that my speedo stopped working....which was bad cuz i was kinda far from my house......i was looking and it seemed like my white face overlay was bubbled.....later when i got home in fact when i took apart the guages the overlay somewhat bubbled and stopped the needle from moving correctly.....do u think that the cars heat had anything to do with it? and i dont remember reading anything about putting more tape on it? has this problem ever happen to anyone else??

I glued the overlay on, so that hasn't happened yet. However, the hole I made for the needle was too small so it restricted movement. I had to take the thing apart just to make the holes a little bigger. Oh well, live and learn.

same thing happened to me. Took it off and redid it and no problems since. It seems to happen at night when you drive for extended periods of time

I had Macewen faces...well still do, but I'm getting rid of 'em.....ANYWAY, back to the point.
I also installed those eurolite hyperwhite dashbulbs. They are a little hotter than the stock bulbs.
My speedo would keep peeling up, so I bought some double sided tape, and went to town. No more problem.
Oh, and yes, it only happened at night when lights were on.

Hmm. I haven't had a problem yet, but I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.

To Abubaca: Are you not happy with the white faced guages? Why the removal? Just interested because I havent changed mine. I was thinking of painting the back trimwork or installing the white faced guages. Is everyone happy with the change-over?
