Armrest cleaning questions...

Well the last time I was cleaning out the car, I noticed that the arm rest for the doors were getting a little bit more black than they should. Wanted to clean them up, but I didn't know what works best, and what I DO NOT want to use. Is there anything that I can do to restore the to showroom quality look? They are tan.

TIA

PS If you have pictures of before and after, or even just after. Post 'em up!!!

I have used Armor-All Mulit-purpose cleaner. It works really well on armrests and such. Just spray it on, let it soak a minute, then clean it off. I had the same problem with my tan armrests, and that did the trick.

Tuff Stuff Interior Fabric cleaner, takes all the dirt and crap off and then use one of the other products. I found this out cleaning my door panels, the foam fell on the arm rest and when I wiped it off there was this really clean spot on my arm rest!

I the arm rests are vinyl....You can plobably use simple green safely. I actually used the purple Power Clean degreaser, but I sprayed it on a tooth brush and scrubbed the spot and then wipe it down with a water dampened towel. The stuff is strong and I would not let it soak in. Just a quick scrub & wipe off. It will take off all the old appiled protectant and dirt that has been trapped and give a slightly dull finish ready for Black Magic. I swear by Black Magic. It has plasticizers in it that soak in and restore the piece to its fully hydrated condition.

For leather I used Murphy's oil soap...
