Powder coating limits

What is the temp and application limits of powder coating???

I know there is hi-temp powder but how hot can a part get with regular powder in one of them neat colors???

At what temp does powder coating start to lose it finish and become easily scared by contact or chemicals.

I see there is a rainbow of colors out there and its almost like paint, only your imagination and pocket book are your limits but where does the heat factor come in???

I have seen super bikes with flames or other designs or flames on just the collector/muffler in brilliant bright colors and I wonder why its not dripping off in a puddle of ooze?

I was told that they encourage people too powder coat the entire engine car/bike as it dissipates heat better.

I am sure on the exhaust manifolds and the majority of the header pipe would need 1000f powder but there must be some point where it drops close to engine temps which much be a safe zone for the standard rainbow of powder colors???

Powdercoating requires 400° temps for 15-20ish minutes. SO. There you go. I've said the words.

Ceramic coatings are different, I think. Because of the ceramic in them they "cure" and therefore can stand higher temps before coming apart. I think.

Those exhaust cans you see on sportbikes that have different rainbow colors are made from Titanium. The titanium is treated and from what I understand, its similar to what anodizing is to aluminum. The rainbow effect is also produced by heat treating the titanium. There are anodized aluminum mufflers for bikes on the market as well. They are not powder coated.

edit - similar in that it colors the metal, not the process

How do you apply the HPC ceramic coating? Is it a similar static method like the powder, or a traditional water or solvent liquid spray base? How is it cured???

Its a ceramic... solvent based. I'll be getting it by the gallon.
Its sprayed with a traditional paint gun. Baked at 650* for 1hr to cure. Then vibrapolished for the mirror like finish
