Pick up some black contact paper, cover them, then make your decision. It is going to be a personal taste...

I painted the blisters on my 91 Z convt. black. The car's yellow, everything, the headlight pockets, even the space where the license plate is. They were yellow at first, but I decided to paint 'em gloss black. Sanded them down myself, and painted them. I was extremely nervice first, but once it was done...WOW, I'm so glad I did it. They look awesome, and really stand out; Makes them much more noticeable. When they were yellow, they were nice, but you couldn't always tell they were there, but with them black, I don't know...maybe it's just me, but they look ten times better. Oh, and for another tip, sand off the paint on the metal grill part of it, It looks awesome with the black, and silver grill. The little holes look real and functional, because they're still black. Many people have asked me what I did, because they think I modified them for an intake or something. Anyway, paint them black, if you're at all thinking about it, it looks awesome. Oh, and yes, I do prefer to have the headlight pockets body color.
And on another small note, the car was painted yellow at Macco. '94 Ford Chrome yellow (The only good thing to come from a Mustang) I did all the body work myself, and honestly, it went well above my expectations. Nice and shiny, and holds well. They did a really good job. Especially for what I paid, $539. I had them spray it, and clear coat it. Now, if only I didn't drive it in the snow (plow effect, chipped paint off the front bumper...going to take it back in the spring and tell them it's chipping like crazy, I have a warrenty...lol) Well anyway, Paint them black. As soon as I get a dig. camera, I'll show you. You won't regret it.
Enough rambling from me...

Hey! That's my car!!!!!!!!!
When I took that hood off and went to my cowl hood, I removed the blisters and painted them black. I think in that picture they look like crap. The key is to get them painted glossy black and clear coat em. That's what I did and they look killer on my brothers Red Iroc. I'll see if I can get some pic's of it.
