Jongbloed Hood?
Hey guys, good news on the repro Jongbloed hood front. A buddy of mine who already makes and sells relacement thirdgen parts is going to make a replica. I won't say who it is since I'm not sure if he want's to announce it yet, I'll leave it to him. He'll be using my hood to make the mold, so it'll be a real replica not just somebody's best approximation of it. I'll e-mail him and tell him to look into this thread so he can give you anymore details if he wants to do that yet.

No, it is not dead. I pm'd andy the other day and he said that the deal is being finalized, so the hood is not being made YET . So hopefully soon we will get a thumbs up and I can send someone my money.

I wouldn't mind a Firebird version of that hood.
Someone wanna photoshop that onto my car?

(and no, my car isn't on jackstands, that is how it sits with no motor or tranny
)

) if i get that hood, im gunna be scared for a paint job... stupid stripes on the sides arent made anymore, and i really like them. I dont wana lose them!! and the chances that they color the hood the same color as my car is slim to non... plus i like the look of the louvers... very very shark like..

I just pm'd andy and he said that there is still nothing final. It is kinda frustrating with this and the 5" iroc spoiler my plans for the body and paint have been postponed. I really have my heart set on these two things. I am now going to pull the 305 & 700R4 and put in an LT-1 and a six-speed and do the suspension before it looks good.
The part that pisses me off the most is that I was told by 2 different companies that they would be done or in production soon and then nothing. I work in customer service and would much rather someone tell me that they are too busy right now rather than feeding me a load of poo poo.
Anyway, I have faith in the people andy has making the hood and hopefully next spring my car will look awesome as well as run.

GT auto called today to verify the shipping address so that the hood can be shipped out tomorrow. They said it'll be here by Monday or Tuesday. So far so good with these guys.
I don't remember the whole story, they replied in one of the posts floating around about the JB hood. But basically they up and moved to CT, I don't know where they were originally, but thats the reason for them being gone for so long. But they are all settled in and everything is going good now from what I've heard/read.

Has anyone seen the new pics GTauto has of the Jongbloed replica??? They are SWEET! The only differences I can tell are there are 3 holes in the back of the cowl instead of 5 and It looks like it might be just a little shorter rise... Maybe 2.75" instead of 3". Either way, I've gotta have one of these hoods! My next thing after chip burning equipment has got to be this hood since I'm having the car painted as soon as I can get the money together. http://www.gtautoacc.net/Jongbloedaero.html

I got the hood today. It even came with new hardware. I was glad it arrived with no damage. I ordered it late last week. It took less than a full week to get here. A+ for gt auto!

Todd was very helpful to me. All I did was call him and order my hood on Thursday and it was here on Tuesday. Less than a week counting the weekend. What more can you ask for? Todd is doing his best to get people their stuff even through the relocation to Connecticut. Order from him and you won't be disappointed. I am a satisfied customer.

Thank you.
As with any business your taking a risk.
Every business has it's squalls with customers. 3/4 the time it's the customer getting over excited and screws something up himself, as to what he ordered exactly, or how he expected it to look and it comes out different.
I know this because I'm a Business Manager at a Kitchen & Bath retail store, and I can tell you I've had hundreds of fights with customers about our products, because they ordered something from a magazine picture that was in a 5 million dollar home, and when it was placed in their 90,000 dollar home it didn't look good anymore.
As for getting ripped off, there's no need for that. Not calling anyone a liar, but the guy who's claiming he was ripped off should be posting proof of his sent monies. Or going to your bank and getting a print-out of when the check or money order was cashed.
