How do YOU take care of your dash pad?
I've had 2 dash pads, the orginial one and another one I bought on e-bay. The one I bought on e-bay has finally cracked after 2 years on my car and I did buy another one on e-bay. Although when I got the dash pad it was not what the seller told me it was and it was a total waste with cracks and chips. So far he is telling me he will reimburse me for all the money so it sounds good.
Anyways, how do you guys take care of your dash pad? Do you always use a sunshade no matter what? Do you use Meguiars or Armor All on it? I am thinking of spending the money and getting the dashpads Classic Industries is in the process of producing, so I would like to take the best care of it as possible. Whatever you guys do to preserve yours is what I would like to hear.

great for windows as well as plastic.. I use armor all on my dash pad, it in almost perfect condition, the previous owners stuck something to it and now there is residue from it that will not come off
I've heard that armor all and such actually dry out the material and can shorten its lifespan, but I don't remember where from. I just dusted it occasionaly and kept it clean and never had any trouble. And thats in Central Illinois, where summer can hit 105 in july and winter has been -20 in February before, and temperature will jump 30 degrees or better in one day in spring and fall.

I've used stuff like that, and some professional stuff too from when I worked as a detailer at a pontiac dealership, nothig worked, I think it partly melted and became one with the dash or something
Eagle 1 Tire Gloss. I can't believe everyone here doesn't use that! You should use it on ALL plastic in your car, period.
Trust me, I promise if you use it you will never go back...

I use a Mopar low gloss protectant. I think that ultra-shiny crap makes it look cheap. I prefer the like-new appearance of the low gloss protectant.

I use Stoner Trim Shine. It works really good. The only reason I don't recommend it is because it works so good you'll be hooked on it, and have to buy all Stoner Products.

I use the dash mat that came with my car. So far that has kept my original dash completely crack free

i use armor all. never been a problem for me. i dont want to say anything thogh because last time i posted a reply saying my dash had never cracked ever, i went out to it not 10min later and guess what.....2 cracks running right in front of the steering wheel. im sure it happened at the exact instant that i posted that reply too.
i was so pissed that i about punched my t-top, then i remembered how expensive those are so i hit my garage door instead and cracked it.
at least i control my anger enough to protect my baby
