A paint problem......
The clear coat is going on my bumper as you can see in the pic. I was wondering with it flaking off like that could potentially harm my car? How can I prevent this or how can I fix it before it gets really bad? I have had the car for 2 1/2 years and the bumper was fine when I bought it, I dont get it.
Thanks
Jason

The paint used on F-bodies built in Van Nuys, Ca. is a water born rather than a solvent based paint due to the stregent air regulations. The down fall os the it is not as durable. The sun deteriorates the clear coat which is the case of your car. Once it starts there is no stoping it except to have the bumper cover refinished. My car did the same thing on the hood, top, deck lid, tops of mirrors and tops of bumper covers.
