I think you just unscrew it out. should be counter-clockwise.

I was going to try that but i was scared that the bottom end or something would fall out or thru...and you can reach up under it..

For some reason it doesnt feel like it unscrews to the get off...

Are you sure? have you taken your off?

Over time, those will rip, making it seem as though they won't unscrew, just work at it a little, maybe with a little help from a small screwdriver, it will come out. Make sure you have replacements first though.

they unscrew but are you sure theres not a bottom piece that will fall out? I can turn it to adjust it jut fine...I just want to take it off to replace it...anyone know the part #?

and I just want to make sure that I can put it back on...I wouldnt think GM would make it where a piece would fall off and then we wouldnt be able to get to the other end...

you know how GM is though

I don't have a part # for you, but your local GM dealership will be able to get that with no trouble. Classic Industries sells them also, as with many other restoration companies.... CI number is

G9878 for 82-84 and G6262 for 82-92 , no idea as to why they list differant #'s... I would suggest going to GM.

It seems like a standard enough item that you may be able to find it on the shelf at a parts store with all the generic "help" stuff.
