Have it done professionally. Most places will do it for under $200 with a lifetime warranty.
If you do it yourself (Which i highly recommend you DON'T DO) there is a tech article on it on the tech pages. Buy 3M tint, its the best, wont fade, peel or turn purple if applied correctly (professionally).
i got my 2 front windows 35% and back 5% installed with lifetime warranty for $160.

joshp14.......why do you recomend I don't you cut to fit mix the soap and water....squeege it to the glass take all the bubbles out and bam you are done, I don't see why its so hard. I have a Convert. so the back is not an issue. I don't want to depend on others do what we do on our owne. That is why this board is here. WHere can I get the 3m?
Thanks
Brian
Thanks

well i vert shouldnt be too bad, i thought you were referring to the hatchback cars. on the hatchback glass, its pretty tough to get the tint to fit the curve of the glass, so you have to use a heat gun to shrink it to fit. Thats the hard part.
but since you have a vert it shouldnt be that bad. check around on the interent, im not sure where you can get the 3M tint, Wal-Mart might carry it, might do a search online.
good luck.

Yeah, since its a convertable, doing the side windows yourself shouldn't be too hard.

Tinting your car yourself is no easy task if your a beginner. I did mine with a buddy of mine who is a pro. i didnt even attempt to try the hatch glass. you have to use 2 pieces to cover it right because of the way the glass curves at the spoiler. also i dont advise going more than 40% on the windows. ive got 20% and i cant see crap out the sides at night. good thing is if someone drives up behind me with brights on or someone in a truck i dont get blinded anymore because of how low you are.

Yeah I know what you are saying...i just want to be able to get the best I can for the car. I have already done the body work, rear disc swap, new carpet and 4thgen seats. I now need to swap in the LT4 cam and Paint the car. I just want to be able to say I did it all myself.
Thanks guys

youll definitely save a ton of money to do it yourself if you can get the tint, but it is a skilled job. youll definitely need a heat gun and a flexible back with a lot of patience to do the hatch glass. just make sure you get the glass as clean as possible before adhering the tint or youll get little bubbles. good luck.

shouldnt be that bad then. just make sure you have some stainless steel razor blades, soap and water mixture in a spray bottle, a small squegie (sp) on hand. then just clean the glass really good. trace the tint. peel it , stick it, heat it to form and let set. done..

where can one find 3M window tint though? if i'm gonna do it i want what the pro's use, not the cheap stuff you can pick up at a parts store. anybody have any idea? and would heating the tint be really necessary to let it set? couldn't you just nto roll the windows down for a few days and let the sun do the job or is it absolutely crucial to heat it?
