Kandied, how are you going to someday top THIS? I saw your car at Camaro Superfest last year, was quite impressed then. This makes me drool. BTW, your paint was beautiful, if you don't mind my asking, why repaint - what did you change or gain? Great car though, wish mine looked half that good.

man i didnt think your car could get any better!!

those aren't dubs............sure look like it from a distance though. there the z06 in 18 all around.....really made a difference from the 17/18 standard combo.
the paint was "freshened" a bit, i love the color so i just fixed needed things here and there.....i'm saving up for a new candy red paint job with ghost accents.
i don't have any pictures of the underside yet, the exhaust is being sent out to have a complete ceramic coated job done. you can kind of see a reflection off of the mirror in the picture though. i cleaned up the underside alot though. used a good amount of por15; it's a street car so i didn't want to waste the money of painting the underbody perfect.
jason, how do you like the valve covers? your car made up my mind on those beautiful things..........pretty price on those though.
pictures were take at the world of wheels autorama show here in detroit last week. still alot of work ahead to really get the stance right and get her ready for the many miles i plan to put on it.
thanks for the compliments everyone; it's greatly appreciated!! :hail:

I like the valve covers... Never knew they made a shorter version, I guess you learn something new each day...

I usually don't like those rims, not even on 'Vettes. But on your car, they look awesome. Any closer pics of the brakes?

come on now, stock 16 inch rims compaired to Z06?? no need to even think....
paint is much better, it kinda loks the same but a little darker, i like your car alot we have the same kinda car deal going on me with the c5's u with the z06's but your car paint is kinda too neon looking or something, but in the "new" picture it looks more dark and fits much better!, im repainting my car soon and im sticking with the same sorta of color as mine and yours, like the stock burgandy, but im trying to make it more red, but not quite as red as yours, but your second picture might be exactly what im looking for, im not sure if im painting before thirdgen nationals, probably not because of all the money i jsut spent, but i will see you there i hope and check out your paint

Is the underside of your hood mirrored?
I would vote for after but I'm on probation
Have you sold those chrome 16s yet? If not, PM me!

I am usually the first person in favor of going with aftermarket rims instead of stock, but in this unusual case, I am going to have to go with the stock rims.
In terms of appearance, I think the stock ones look 1% better than the Vette rims
In terms of appearance, I think the stock ones look 1% better than the Vette rims
i can deal with that 1% since half the realism is in the actual in person sight.
i like the stock rims just as much, however i can't fit the larger brakes......unfortunately there is no company out there that has tried to go 17". thanks for the replies guys!
here's one closeup of the front rim to show the brakes........let me remind you i had to use a cheap disposable camera.

Oh, I did not know you got larger brakes, I'm guessing you have rotors larger than 12" then. In that case you can't go back to the stock rims so it really doesn't matter which one looks better, unless some aftermarket company makes a larger 91-92 style Z28 rim.

After for sure. You really have to bring that car to the Camaro Nationals here in Niagara Falls. I would really love to see that thing first hand. Plus I am sure you would win something.

Kandied, who works on ur car?
i try to do all of it..........if i can't i have a mechanic friend who's certified to help me.
that's why it's taken me 6 years...........
Cruzin Kaz, i'm definately going to try to make it to niagra falls....i hope to anyway.
brodyscamaro, that's kind of a harsh thing to say.........i didn't even want to post pictures but everyone keeps asking. i'm not going to say much but i resent that remark as i try to do anything but "brag" about my car. if you want me to brag i will.

Well we'll keep in touch then. I really want to see that car. We can exchange detailing tips etc. Lots to do in Niagara Falls for someone who's never been.
As for this BRAGGING thing.. Brag away man. You've worked hard for it! But I know that this was by now means bragging.
:hail: Keep me posted!
By the way..I don't think I ever caught your real name Kandied91Z??
Mine is Keiran if you hadn't caught mine either.:hail:

for everyone: as far as getting your car the way you want it...it takes alot of time. i thought i was gunna get my car completely done in 2 years the most. well i thought wrong. im only half way there. its alright to brag about here and their once in a while but just remember you worked long and hard to get to this point and its definately something to be proud of.
no harsh feeling kandied (jeff ?). it really is one of the most bad *** thirdgens (if not the best) i have ever seen. and the internet offers me plenty of oppurtunities to see em
you can brag if ya want (thats kinda what this forum and whole site is about, hey check out my new LT5 i just put in and how do you like my custom blower/twin turbo/front turn signal lights/etc etc).
keep it up

no harsh feelings at all.
i just wanted to make it clear that it wasn't my intentions!!
i do take great pride in my work and while i would love to go on and on i know that some would get tired of it so i don't. i take more pride from one person saying they like my work then anything else possible.....there are always going to be people who don't like something i've done to the car and i accept that too.
that's why i build it for me and if one of you enjoys anything i've done then i'd say i'm pretty proud of it!
thanks for taking the time to say such nice things everyone.....

I love the color. But in person those spacers to fit Z06 rims just look strange. I had a chance to see it at Autorama, the car is just sweet.

I dont mind when people brag because whenever I get something done to my car I am excited as all heck!!! I love to see guys fix up third gens because hardly anyone does. When I drive around Fresno with my car people drool. I could only imagine the looks people give Kandied91Z. I can definitly say that it takes a large amount of time and money to make a car look as good as that. I think money is more the issue than anything else because working on them and improving them is a blast. When I got my SS hood I about cried!!! Seeing car like this one motivates me to do more and also gives me an idea of what I can do to mine! I got the whole SS hood idea with the stripes from Brad and then made it to my own.
Anyway, I told you before that your car is awsome and it still is! I wish I could see it in person. To bad you did not live in Cali so you could meet up with a bunch of members at Morro bay!

1quickIROC, true the adapters are a bit large.....2 3/4" is always going to look a little odd.
however you have to take into account the size of the wheel and style....they were ment for a suspension that brought the wheel that much further out. if i were to have paid the extra 1,000 to have them custom cut they would look similar you just wouldn't be able to say there is an adapter.
while i will bring them in as much as possible there is only so much i can do to make them fit. unfortunately it seemed that more people paid attention to the whole "spacer" adapter issue then the 600 horse engine or the baer brakes.....not that it's the end of the world but it can be a disappointment.
it was truly amazing how many people asked why i had frnt wheel drive rims on the car.
you take the good with the bad, that's all one can do. you can't expect everyone to understand why things are the way they are and how much work it takes to get them that way. i'm happy with it though and that's all that matters to me in the end. thanks for the compliments everyone!

Hey Jeff, lookin good
I got a few questions for you though... since the heads are similar to the ones I have I was wondering what length pushrods you used? And since I will be needing braided fuel lines I was wondering what size the adapter fittings for the fuel return line are? Also what kind of rocker arms are you using and are they self guided or do you have guideplates?
Thanks man

The Mustang isn't a show car, its a race car. Yes Jeffs car puts it to shame at shows but the Mustang is a 8 second car.Originally posted by samdog1232000

S-H-I-T, That car (the Mustang) is a 8 second car or was that a mistype?

That is pretty fast, I have a friend that I work with and he has a 93 Mustang GT. He took me for a ride and it is really fast!!! He is running about 410 horses and his is only a 12 second car!

Very Very nice car! Has a magazine company ever asked you to be in their mag? Your car looks 10 times better than the ones featured!:hail:
don't want to jinx myself but there have been a few offers on the table..........however most want me to drive half way across the country for shoots. once it's finally together and i can travel to some of the larger shows this summer it will be more of a reality hopefully. it is hard with a thirdgen though, they either want 1st or 4thgens and if you have a thirdgen they expect some wild 80's neon paintjob.
thank you for the compliment.
samdog1232000, the mustang is definately up there........it's purely for racing. i'll be just happy in the 11's as i need it to be streetable.

Out of curiosity, how old are you?

i like before better, personally i think those rims and the low profile tires look too much like something you'd find on a *****, but it's still a nice car though.
