Preppin' engine bays

Hey guys. I'm planning on getting my car repainted black, and I plan on doing all the prep work myself this summer. My question is, I don't want to have a black car with a red engine bay, so is there really anyway of prepping my engine bay without taking everything out? Or am I just gonna have to take my girl off the road for a while to do this?

Yea, that's what I figured. I guess I'll end up removing everything and doing it that way. It'll give me a great opportunity to learn about my car!

EDIT: Hey, at what post count does one go from Junior Member to just Member?

Im doing this right now. I have removed the battery, AC/heat box, emissions canister thingy, master cylinder/boost, wiper motor, overflow/wiper tanks, as well as unbolted all the relay's etc. Plus remove the distributor cap. Surprisingly Ill be able to paint pretty m,uch everything that can be seen without removing the motor but it is alot of stuff to remove.
