Ejected T-Top

Well, I never thought it would happen to me but after all this time, it happened. I was driving to the auto glass shop today in my IROC to have my passenger side window replaced. Well in the process, I was heading down a street at about 35 and all of a sudden my T-top caught air and landed in the street. It shattered into a million pieces. Sux to be me... ok so anyway, where do I get another t-top. ?

I feel your pain man. A while back I had just stuck my t-tops on to wash my car and when I took it for a ride to dry it off I got home and the top was no longer there. I had lost it about a mile back at about 80 MPH. Somehow it did not break, it just chipped off the corners and broke the plastic up a little. To answer your question though, try junkyards, they usually have some around.

I'd try the junk yards or ebay. Unless you have 1200.00 to spend on brand new t'tops

admittedly it was not latched. I cannot blame the car for this... it was my fault plain and simple.

This is why I always make sure mine are latched AND locked.

Been there, done that, but mine bounced once before shattering.

Try the classifieds here, ebay, or any local car club forums. DO NOT buy from GM or any other retailer, unless you like to get bent over, believe me, I learned the hard way.

Not to rip on anyone, but how is it possible to do this. You put on the t-top then you close the latch?? Its not that hard. I have never even come close to forgetting to close the latch.

Sometimes you're in a rush and you just forget, it happens to the best of us. I forgot to latch down the front of my convertible top once and when i was going to school one morn i heard a lot of wind noise when the front just popped up. luckily i had latched it in the tonneau cover so it didn't do much, scared the hell out of me though

you say that and it will happen to you! lol j/k

happen to me as most know about that, i posted the pics of my tore up passengers lexan t-top.

any hoo, look on ebay or cut a deal from someone on here.

i use to think, i will never lose a t-top, guess what i did, i got distracted when putting them on the car and since i put the windows up already and had the door open i threw that sucker on their and didnt latch first before i closed the door

any way i think i learned my lesson, 180 later i own an even better set of lexan t-tops, with key, and almost better condition leather zipper bag from a person parting a 92 rs on ebay.

you havent experineced a thirdgen unless you loss a t-top , lost mine going 65 mph, dont know why is didnt flew off earlier.

Loosing a t-top sucks. I was doing 50 on a 3 lane road with lots of traffic when it happened. Thank *** the person behind me turned. The **** flew like 30 feet in the air, landed, and shattered in front of that car. Luckily I got the insurance adjuster to pay for it.
