New paint job & appearance mods with pics!!!

I got my car back from the body shop yesterday and mounted my new wheels! I finally got a chance to take some quick pics and thought I'd share them with you and see what you all think about it now.

Here is a list of what I did to the car since February:
- New paint including:
.....body colored door handles and locks
.....body colored headlight area
.....body colored grill
.....all door, hood, and hatch jams painted
.....body moulding deleted
- ACDS fiberglass SS hood with red stripe
- Clear turn signals
- New parking lamps
- Red Z28 emblems
- New weatherstripping in all jams
- 17" Boyd Coddington "Shrike" wheels
.....front = 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing
.....rear = 17x9.5 with 5.5" backspacing
- New Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires
.....front = 245/45/ZR17
.....rear = 275/40/ZR17

Here is a pic of the car before the work:

Here are a couple of pics of the car after the work:

Looks good, but I like black grilles and headlight pockets better.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

MetalliCamaroRS - I agree that the black looks a bit more aggressive and I normally like it better. But the white is a bit cleaner looking (IMO on my car anyway). I am still struggling whether to stick with the white or go back to black. Do I stay with clean and uncluttered or go with black that is a little more agressive?

The reason why I went ahead with the white is because I wanted to see what it would look like. I knew if I told the body guy to spray it all white, I could easily go to black if I didn't like it. However, if he sprayed it black, I would never know if I liked the white or not.

I can easily mask off the headlight pockets, scuff them up, and spray it satin black. I can also buy a new bow tie grill for about $55. The "all white look" is just a little different and I haven't seen it on too many 3rd gens. However, its really growing on me. At this time, I may just leave it that way. We'll see.....

I don't have a perfect car, so I can't be a hypocrite but I would give your car a solid 9. Only things I would change is the red on the scoop (should have stayed white) and I'd lower it a little. Otherwise :hail:

I seached for nearly a year until I finally found the wheels that I wanted. I especially liked the style of the TT2's, but everyone has them and I really wanted to find something unique that no one else (or very few) has.

I wanted Fikses, but like everyone else, couldn't afford them. I stumbled accross Sportruck.com one day while searching through the posts for wheels and followed a link. Someone mentioned about the BC Tuner wheels that looked like the Fikse FM10s and I went to check it out. I saw the Shrike during my search and knew that was the wheel I wanted!

Here is a close up of the wheel:

Thanks for the compliment! Eibach Sportline springs are already in the shed and am just waiting for the opportunity to install them!

I was actually going to wait about posting pics until the springs were installed, but the anticipation was killin' me! This project has been in the works since the beginning of the year!

That looks awesome! I love the SS hood and that paint is sweet!

Do you still have the body moulding? If so, I'm interested in buying it.

Nice job!

I would paint the headlight Pockets Black, and get a new Black grill. When it is painted all white like that, it doesn't offset the car. All you see is white. You do not see the muscular angularity of the car.
Other than that, the hood is nice, but don't know about them wheels. They just don't flow with the car. Anyway, really clean car!

Wow..that does look realy nice. Great job...bet you have alot of money invested in that. I'm really thinking about getting my SS scoop outlined like yours...but...mine being in silver instead of red...but i dunno..I might just keep it all black..

bubbakutz I don't believe that grill will work on your car. You might be able to make it work w/ ome major modification! It would be differnet in a good way!

Sweet ride 9T1

Looks way better with the side mouldings removed. Great choice of wheels and hood.

How does it handle with the new wheels and tyres?

The car is beautiful, don't change a thing. If you like the all-white nose then don't let anyone talk you out of it. Everyone else has a black grill, why be the same?

Sorry, man. It has already been sold. Someone posted a WTB ad for side moulding in the classifieds the day after I removed it.

It's not a very noticable difference. Although, I can tell some improvement. I am sure the new rubber helps a lot with that as well. I should really see a bigger differnece when I put in my Eibach springs!

Your car is gorgeous!!

The only thing I would change is the headlight pockets, I'd paint them black. It shows off the angle of the front end better when they're black too.

But I would still leave the grille white

Hmmmm.....thanks for the Photoshop job nolanr0413! You care getting me thinking about it some more. I like it both ways - each for different reasons.

I suppose I am going to have to "chew" on this one for a while.

BTW, the stock Z28 wheels in the first pic are going to be sold. I will put them on eBay next week. I haven't decided what price I want from them. The wheels have little to no road rash, but the clear coat needs to be removed because it has hazed and cracked. You know, the typical problem with those wheels. (A perfect set to polish!!!)

If anyone on this thread wants them first, I will take offers at webmaster@BhamFbody.com. No emails asking for a price please. If someone makes me a decent offer, I will sell them to him/her directly before putting them on eBay. I will be unmounting the tires (already sold) and cleaning the wheels in the next few days. I can provide pics for serious inquiries.
