Lightest Wheels that still look good

I'm looking to put some new wheels on my firebird. It's an 87 yellow formula. I'm trying to go around 17, but I want to use the lightest ones I can find. I was looking at black Z06 wheels, but i have no idea the weight. Any suggestions?

If you are looking for the lightest wheel in a 17". you probably would want to look at the Weld XP series. It's like the classic Drag-lite, Pro-star, and Rod-lites. These are made of lightweight forged aluminum and are probably the lightest and strongest wheels you can buy - especially in a 17" wheel.

You can get an idea of whata they cost by going to Jegs.com. When searching for wheels, you will see that they also make a Crager that looks identical and is a bit cheaper. Just keep in mind that the Crager wheels are not made of the same lightweight aluminum. They are made of steel and are not nearly as light as the Welds. Below are some pics for you to look at.

you'll need to go forged for lightweight. if you do not mind adapters centerlines forged series is one of the lightest wheels out there but they aren't cheap at roughly $350 a rim for 17"

the welds above are decently light....definately not the lightest and most of them aren't recommended for street use, one good pothole and they will bend like butter.

look to a billet wheel or a forged aluminum wheel but be ready to pay for lightness. my 18's are 18lbs but they retail at 1,100 a rim. stay away from the z06 wheels or anything cast for that matter as they are very very heavy.

good luck.

They are pretty heavy.
I was given a pair of Weld Pro Stars the other day, 15x10 with tires and they are much larger than the ZR1 and much lighter.

Yea I was probably being optimistic it more like 30 with tires the rims way near nothing I mean they are lighter than the rubber! The rims in the box I could literally toss around.
