What makes a thirdgen look good without a wing?
I was looking at some pictures of mine like the Black California Z and Zephers old pics and noticed that no wing looked good. I can't figure out what it was that made them look good without the wing.
How do you make no wing on a thirdgen look good?

I think the big thing for any car is it having a nice paint job and keeping it clean, and wheels can make or break a car. I've thought about going the no spoiler route but I think I need something to offset the SS hood I want to get.

It's not the paint job, it's the wide wheels in the back.

i've stared long and hard at zephyr's pics.. (and vid).. trying to figure out what it is that makes me like the old pics more than the new ones.
having no wing definitely looked sweet on your car, zeph.. but there's something else i just can't put my finger on about those pics, and it aint the wheels/tires.
whatever it was. i liked it.

It's when you look in Zepher's pics and can't really get a grasp on just how large of a table-top you have behind the hatch without a wing. It's really massive in person....I've seen some TAs without wings and it wasn't pretty from behind or from above.
Those pics look good....you just don't get the right feel for it.

If you cut off the back bumper and have the back flat, it probably would look really hot without a spoiler.
Let me photoshop something real quick.

i'll tell you what it is - It's the natural design of the Bird. The swooping rear quarter panels, The Hatch, and the height of the Front wheel wells. It truly does look like a Vette - The lines are beautiful on it.
I'm planning on buying an 89 Bird and taking the wing off - Doing some of the 'little' things I've been wanting to try for a long time.

I love Zepher's car. I think I liked it a little better with the Zr-1 (I think thats what they are called) wheels but it still hits me the right way. I actually didn't take my spoiler off...someone seriously stole it
But now that its off I actually like it better spoiler-less.

I don't really like the no spoiler look on Camaros, but on Firebirds, I love it.
