Paint started on The Predator!

I finally have started the paint on my car!

The pics aren't the greatest as they were taken at dusk last night after I finished spraying. I still have to make brackets and mount the hood(4" cowl lift off) and mount my Iroc rims(after I finish the paint) I will hopefully have all of the painting finishedby this weekend and will be able to start polishing it. If the weather cooperates with me.

Wasn't your car like 100 different colors before...yellow and some others....looked pretty bad, now it looks awsome! Its amazing what a great new coat of shiney paint will do. Im looking forward to seeing the finished product.

did you paint it yourself? What kind of gun and air compressor do you have? Im looking to paint my car again soon and Im on the look out for the tools to paint it.

later,
bill

lmao! yeah, it was a couple of different colors and did look bad! Yes, I am painting it myself and I will get the brand of compressor when I head out to the garage in a while. The gun I believe I purchased from Jockos(been about 5 years)...the touch up gun I have came from Oreilly's Auto...I am not sure if the brand name is on them or not If it is I will definitely post back with that info as well.

She looks great Cuno Black is the best color to paint a car. Did you use a base/clear paint or 1 stage paint?

The compressor is a Wagnor. It isn't a huge compressor, 2ftX2ft or so.

I agree, black is the best color on 3rd gens! I am using the 1 stage paint. I find that it is alot easier to use than the base/clear type of paint. To properly apply the base/clear, you are suppose to "bake" it on, seeing as I do not have the proper equipment to perform this task, I use the 1 stage which is easy to apply and does not require a clear coat, simply a wet sand and a really good buffing(polishing).

I am going to use the '89 style Iroc rims which I received yesterday! I had considered aftermarket rims but found that I like the look of the Iroc rims the best.
