Is she totalled? <<Part 2>>
I'm still waiting on the slow insurance, last thing I heard from an adjuster was "totalled".
But since I'm fairly certain it will be totalled......I started looking. Needless to say I found something. How's this for new eyecandy?

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. If all goes well that totalled 1987 will be revived in the coming years with a fiberglass front end and some go-fast goodies.
I love GTAs

not much. Gotta realize my 87 has rear lap belts...and the 91 has rear shoulder belts. So the rear plastics won't swap. That means seats wouldn't match....and so on. And honestly....the interior in this car is near mint. I drove it today before bidding and lets just say I have a new respect for stock *****.
We'll see though. If I come across some rear should belt black plastics.....you're going to see an even hotter 91 GTA clad in black leather

Yah I won the car.
131,000 miles of being owned by a corvette owner. The car is perfectly spotless with stock EVERYTHING. The guy's been running synthetic in the car since he bought it and it doesn't smoke at all on startup. The ride is so stiff I thought it had sub-frames....turns out he just never ever ragged on the car. He told me he tried spinning the tires a couple times but felt it was too harsh on the car. I've riden in alot of thirdgens....and I'll say this about this one: The car rides like it just rolled off the showroom floor. There are no creaks or groans or squeeks...nothing of what we think thirdgens are. The guy didn't even know it had 2 catalytic converters under it! He's just babied it for 9 years.
5400 is actually fairly low for a clean GTA. Here in the Houston area, you can't find anything near as clean as my last one for less than 6000. And this car, put in the right paper - could have brought 7k.
I go to pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait

hmmm.....excellent.
Ive been keeping my eyes peeled for a good TPI setup for my 305 motor sitting in my garage. But I would much rather have a 350 TPI complete setup like my brother got for his 84 camaro.
Keep us posted on the new car and your project on getting your old GTA a racer.
I remember when I bout my 91 Firebird. It was flawless much like your new one. It was a mint interior and the motor was only a v6 but the whole car was never abused. I miss that car....

Let me know if you are ever going to get rid of drive train out of your old GTA.
good luck with the new bird! I always get excited to see someone get a new thirdgen.
