5" spoiler at Hawks!!

Oh man, I saw it and couldn't believe my eyes. I have to say it looks pretty hot. Was just wondering if anyone has ordered it and also would it fit on a '92 convertible. I'm afraid it might not, that would be unfortunate. Giddy up.

Does anyone have any pics of this spoiler on a car from farther away than the pics on the Hawk's site? I remember way back when i got my car I wanted to get one of these but they were out of production at the time, now that it's back I'm debating between the Aero and the 5". Thanks.

$250 is pretty reasonable acually... they were speculated to be atleast $300.

Besides, noone can complain... everyone BEGGED for that spoiler saying how much they love it and how they kill to have one. Just be glad someone stepped up to the plate to make em for ya!

yeah, that is true. Everyone wanted one! I think $250 is actually a great price. Look at how much the high rise spoiler costs. This is about the same price so I think it is a really fair price.

For 250.00 and its the only current in production 5' spoiler, I say its a great price. I want two but I either have to decide on buying more/better polishing wheels or buy one 5' spoiler for either the 85 or the 82, preferably the 85 since she's my daily driver. Descisions desisions............

Hey guys we are still getting the details on the spoiler install worked out. we mounted one on neils car which has a SS hood and Firehawk wheels and with the spoiler mounted all i can say is OH MY *** it looked like it could take the high banks of Talladega.Yes this is a good price I did not understand what it took to get them started but we are in it and it is happening.I hope buy the end of the week I will have some ready to ship.Keep this in mind I am taking orders and i assure you that they will not ship until they are ready so first come first delevered we have mounted these on the 91-92 and the 82-86 hatches and from what i can tell the 82-86 hatches holes will have to be inlarged about 1/16 gor udjustment on fit and we will ship out 98% readt to paint, you will have to final sand for EXACT fitment to your car and prime and paint, pretty easy,I have stepped up and got these into production i just hope you guys love it when you get it on your car because trust me when you see it on Niels car your jaw will drop. call me with any questions thanks alot.

wouldnt that make it kind of hard to close the hatch? My support arms are pretty stiff especially when its warm out.

I dont know I have mixed feelings about it. I never liked it on 4th gens...but maybe it would look better on a 3rg gen.

If the quality is what I'd expect from Hawks, then $250 is a bargain. Quality fiberglass products aren't cheap, and low quality fiberglass stuff has more ripples and waves than a fat chick on a washing machine.

yes, i was expecting more in the 300-350 range, 250 is quite inticing, of course like all things, i have been wanting one for a year, descide to start an engine project, blow all my money on speed parts, and then you make it. that is the way it goes though.

just make sure you continue to produce these long enough for me to get one!

I would like to see a picture from the side, one that would include the whole car. Also, one from the rear would be pretty sweet.

Does anyone know if the mounting holes for the spolier on the '88 IROC would have to be enlarged?

Another thought about the spoiler, wouldn't the larger soiler create more rear drag at higher speeds? I ask only because I wouldn't want to put anything on that would slow me down at the end of the track or give me too much rear downforce when I cruising at 90.

The cd of a spolier like this wouldn't be enough to slow you down more than 1/4 mph at 90. You have to think the position of the 5" spolier compared to a fast and furious spolier.

You might want to think about the times that you are one the highway going 100+, this will keep that rear end down more! You won't be able to tell that you have a larger spoiler, unless you have a vert.

why would it make it any harder to close the hatch?

by the way, it figures they come out with the spoiler just a couple months after i buy a trans am and decide to sell the camaro

Anyone want to try a photoshop of the side of a camaro with the 5" spoiler? I need to have one so I can decide which hood and wheels would look the best.

Ah finally, what I've been waiting for. I just need to get that 5" spoiler, an SS hood, drop it 2", and get some 17" ROH Snyper's and I'm set as far as outside appearance goes. Oh, and of course a new paint job.

I have the spoiler and I really like it. The only thing I dont like about it is that it puts stress on hatch release motor, and it doesnt pop up very good any more. Other than that I really like it.

Snap some pictures and post them up here. I want to see if from the side. I am thinking about timeless rims from the chrome series at www.billetwheel.com (Boyd Coddington).

why does it put stress on the hatch motor? how much does the spoiler weigh? i can't picture it weighing much more than the orginal 3 piece spoiler.

Thanks dude. I think it looks good, that's just me though. A custom paint job, lowered to handle, and some wide wheels...That would look good.

It doesn't, I'm sure it was just a coincidence. The spoile is skinner than the factory three piece, and fiberglass does not weight that much. I would say it is the same weight as the factory.

I wonder how that spoiler would look on a Firebird modified to fit on the ends and extended on the sides.

Am I hearing a new photoshop idea? Throw it out there, I'm sure someone is willing to do one.
