yea, i saved that one, saw it last night
but yea, i saw all the stuff in there and i understand sanding 180 to remove clearcoat, or just get smoe paint and epoxy remover, and then 320 and 400, and do a lot of 400 because it takes all the fine scratches out. but im not clear on buffing and polishing and what ill need to get the job done. i understand that youll need the compounds tripoli and white rouge, i think its called but how do you buff and polish? and im really cheap and saving up for performance mods so is all that equipment cheap enough to buy? i dont mind working on it for a long time, i just need to conserve my money

and i was wondering what that rim (my last post) would look like...because everybody else's rims that ive looked at have a different kind of rim. not the style i have, so im curious as to how they would look. sorry bout the long post

I bought the polishing wheels and compounds from Eastwood for about $45 shipped. I used emery, tripoli, then white rouge.

Edit- 85SportCoupeto89RS polished his rims like yours, they came out awesome. But he also has a polishing shop, so he's got lots of equipment.

Its fun polishing the those rims Heres one of mine, you can note that I've done a few things different to some of the rough edges. The part where the starts meet the outer ring of the rim, I auggred that flat, and the edges between the top of the spokes and lip have been auggered angled to get rid of the step. I need to repolish mine real bad, when I tore most of the ligaments in my left knee 7 months ago my SC had to sit for a while couldnt do mateinance or keep the rims from oxidizing. Oh well they'll be even better this time thur

alright, i think im gonna do it by hand (yea i know it takes a LOT of time, but unless my dad has a drill, im just gonna do it by hand because its cheaper than going and buying a drill)
what all will i need to buff and polish it then?
i heard someone before say they just sanded then got mothers aluminum and mag polish and then they jsut did that, and were done. is that all it takes?
