bent aluminum wheel, fixable?
question one of my wheels, weld aluminum drag-lites, is bent on the very end of the lip. it actually doesn't affect anything but appearance. any way to fix it?, i've heard you can't cause they'll break and you can't heat em up am i wrong? any suggestions. included pic of what it should look like if necessary i'll try to get a pic of the bent one. probably just to be made fun of, lol. thanx

There are places that do wheel repair that could fix it, but the cost is usually prohibitive unless the wheel is not made any more or a really expensive rim to begin with.
If they would do it right, they would heat the area, bend it back, fill the crack with new aluminum, refinish the surface, then re-heat treat the whole wheel, then re-apply any clear coating. It can get into several hundred dollars for one wheel if the damage is extensive. I had a friend that had a set of vintage Porshe wheels refinished to the tune of 2 grand, not including shipping both ways... Your Welds are probably cheaper each to replace than what it would cost to get it fixed...
