Cool overhead consoles?
1. I'm replacing the overhead console in my trans am, because it's old-looking, worn and lame.
2. I don't want anything that 3rd gen f-bodies have to offer, because I need something modern that will match up with my 4th gen dash.
3. I've checked out ebay already, and found only 1 that may be suitable.
If those of you who drive other cars can give suggestions as to which cars have *nice* consoles, it would be a BIG help to me.
I have no problem making modifications to make things fit. Pictures would be great, but I can find some on the web if i need to.

just dont put in an overhead console, or whatever its called, if i had to replace mine i wouldnt even put a light in . but of course i dont drive the car more than 1500 miles a year and never in rain and hardly at night. If you didnt put one in they you could have a bird put in the headliner.

yeah well i had considered not having a console at all.. but i decided against it. I'd miss the dome-light too much, and plus I just like making use of the space.
As for the bird on the headliner -- I spend most of my time trying to debadge the car ; i don't want to work in the other direction. Don't get me wrong, that photo looks killer - just not my thing.
I think i'm going to end up going custom. Fiberglass is just too easy an option to ignore, and the only real effort has to go towards designing an attractive piece and making the mould. I have a pretty cool idea to go along with that - if i go with that option. I'll keep it secret for now, but you'll all see pics when it's done.
